I understand where you’re coming from, but I also heartily disagree.

Sure it’s remaking something using similar technology, but doing something out of the simply desire to do it is one of the most important things for a human. Not only that, but projects like this are excellent for building skillsets in the industry.

I did it a few months ago, honestly after the initial learning it has been a great experience. That’s including me having to fuck around with stuff because I chose to run extremely new graphics hardware, and that’s kinda on me.

This reads like how we used to think that the body got lighter when we died due to the soul leaving the body. Turns out we just exhale and fart a lot after death.

Definitely 456-123 order, I know some people have different ways they prefer to watch but I think that kind of detracts from watching how the franchise evolves over the years.

If you want more after that, rogue one and andor is pretty good, clone wars/bad batch has some good stuff (though I’d recommend finding a watch guide for clone wars, some episodes are straight up kids stuff, other episodes are almost literally Vietnam war and decapitations)

I think the sequels are interesting to watch, I’m a bit of an 8 apologist in some areas, but you have to go in with the expectation that there’s a general decline in story progression and making sense from movie to movie.

Honestly though I think the series has a general decline after 5. It’s all not bad, and there’s some good stuff, but if you find yourself uninterested don’t force yourself to continue after like episode 6.

Mostly due to lack of support from the developers, but that often reaches into willful obstruction. People are stubborn and clever, if it can run on windows it can likely run on Linux, but the devs will sometimes put willful roadblocks against things running on Linux. Allegedly to stop cheats, though since most anti cheat software does support Linux I think they just don’t want to deal with the OS.

They definitely can add anticheat to cooperative games, though again it feels a bit much.

I would say not to worry too much? The potential for abuse exists, but is not actually used. The companies that make the anti cheat software these days have way too much on the line to risk that kind of behaviour. It’s one of those things that it’s in a bit of a weird state, and some people like to keep an eye on it, but for the vast majority of cases is a minor inconvenience.

I’m being a bit vague here because where it is now is the result of decades of arms race between the cheaters and the developers, thus extremely complicated.

It’s a program that sits on your machine, and watches both the game in question, as well as other programs, to make sure there’s no funny business regarding the game.

It’s somewhat effective, though it comes at a cost. There is a noticeable performance cost on modern anticheat programs, meaning you’re losing performance for sometimes no tangible benefit.

Kernal level anti cheat programs are especially invasive, as they have deeper access to your operating system than would normally be allowed by any other program. This can be fine when used correctly, but if abused could be a massive privacy concern, or even a danger to your system. If you remember a little while back where every business windows computer went down for a day due to the crowdstrike antivirus, that’s a potential result of kernal level software going bad.

So somewhat necessary evil, and they do kind of work. I personally don’t love solutions that eat performance like this, and privacy is a concern of mine, but also I kinda get it.

Nah I get that, I’m glad that it’s improved so much over the years. I’m excited to build a new PC and never have it touch windows tbh.

Which ones in particular? I have this issue on windows 10 as well. I’ve still not touched city skylines 2 and stalker 2. I just tried Jedi survivor, and honestly it was a mistake.

Eh crunchyroll killed animelab which was a better service all round, I guess what goes around comes around.

What are you using now? I’ve been thinking of switching to popos but I’m keeping my eyes open for options.

Good fucking luck, the hardware will likely be a 2022 tablet if the switch is anything to go off of. Considering as well the console will likely have similar architecture, and switch emulators already exist, I’d give it about 3 months.

I’m still running windows for now, but even then Vulkan has de-fucked a few games for me. Given the option, always Vulkan.

There are lots of bots and it sucks to vote kick them, but if I can get full matches in Australia with no issue I feel like the game is pretty okay. I do miss community servers though I’ll grant you.
