A friend recommended me OpenSuse MicroOS, and it has been a great experience!
It’s a atomic OS designed to be just enough to run containers and it does it perfectly. It updates and reboots itself automatically so I never have to worry about it.
IMO, perfect for a home environment, just wish the documentation was better.

You can run a SSH server on Termux, so yes, no reason you couldn’t.
Though given how aggressive background app management has gotten on Android, you’ll likely have to use the ‘Wakelock’ function which will keep a permanent notification on your status bar, and even then Termux might still not survive depending just how aggressive your OEM/ROM is.

On one hand, requiring calls to be done on the native app but not on the web one because “muh encryption” was always stupid.
On the other hand, the Native app was really well done.
A well made app using the native OS ui toolkit is so rare. Now it’s turning into yet another stupid web wrapper.

It’s not fanboy BS though, AMD encoders used to be pretty rough compared to Nvidia’s, specially at lower bitrates.

They could offer premade “modules” so people could customize what they enjoy and grab ready stuff for the things they find annoying to configure
You can, I’ve done it myself, but most plugins are geared to run in the Big Picture mode instead of the Desktop UI.
For example, the SteamGridDB plugin only runs in Big Picture, and despite showing its menu option the desktop, clicking it gives you a broken window.
Meanwhile, the CSS Loader plugin runs on both, and there some themes specifically geared to modify the desktop UI, like the lovely Metro for Steam skin recreation by Rose
