Yes, and it removes the AI, ads, and sponsored results,; then it uses its own algorithm to order the results more relevantly than google/bing/ddh/etc

You can also choose from which of those search engines (there’s like over 100) it includes results

It doesn’t take many resources at all actually. I run it on an old quadcore i5 with like 8gb of RAM lol.

Regardless, its still way better than google even if you use a public instance, the benefit of the private instance is just that it obfuscates your queries from 3rd parties.

SearXNG works better than Google ever has, and it allows you to remain private af if self hosted.

Maps was the only thing keeping me around, and then they ruined Maps (presumably by attempting to optimize it with AI). It doesn’t work anymore.

I deleted it after being taken to the wrong address on several different occasions.
