Maybe is because im not from US but i dont give a damn about this stuff. He is swedish so I totally get that he didnt gave a damn at the time either. This Nword stuff is a strange cultural trait of one of the most racial aware countries in the world that, btw, is very racist overall. And I agree that now he is more mature but I dont thing he essentially changed. He has been always very goofy and still is.

…Yeah man I’m American, don’t worry, you’ll never catch me arguing that America isn’t a racist country lol. This place fucking sucks, and that’s one of the big reasons why.

Like I said I truly do not care about Pewdiepie. I don’t want anything bad to happen to him, I wouldn’t go out of my way to make anything good happen for him, he’s just irrelevant to me and that’s fine for both of us I imagine.

Though I will say that if you elect to “not give a damn” about other people being exposed to racial slurs which make them feel dehumanized though, you’re an asshole and a privileged one at that. Just because it may not be particularly relevant in your culture (though, back on 420chan [I’m old], I remember Swedish people whining nonstop about the Somali immigrants in their country, so I’m not sure I’m entirely convinced that it isn’t a Swedish issue too) doesn’t mean you shouldn’t care about how it can hurt other people. Especially when said by someone with a global audience, especially when that global audience is largely children or teenagers.

But also, to reiterate my reiteration: I do not care about Pewdiepie and am not suggesting he be exiled from humanity, only that he probably shouldn’t do that again. Which it sounds like he hasn’t, so… good?

He said the nword once (terrible thing), almost a decade ago, apologized for it and improved (I guess) as a person
I’m sick of internet people calling for a guillotine whenever someone makes a mistake even once

yeah, its part of why the internet sucks, you make some bad decisions, fall for some stupid propaganda or listen to the wrong person, and you’re branded forever. People make bad decisions. It happens.

gods forbid someone make a mistake and then take a step back to reexamine their lives to try and be a better person.

The person I was responding to said

I personally love him for being the same guy all this years.

My point was not necessarily that he needs to be excommunicated from humanity, but that they might want to reconsider whether him “being the same guy all this years” is a good thing

(I do not actually give a single shit about Pewdiepie in any fashion positive or negative)
