Genuine question: how the hell does this keep happening? Don’t they have any quality control, any testing, competent management, quality engineers, years of experience, or anything at all?
They fired their QA department in 2015 relying on telemetry of users to diagnose issues. Then last year they boasted a third of all their code is AI generated. You don’t have millions of lines of code over 2+ decades and have a high quality standard of a third of that was generated in 2 years.

They merged their QA department with Bethesda, raising the head count to 0.
I wager the “third of code is AI generated” was perhaps a twist of the truth to advertise for AI in general.
That said, an OS on AI generated code is not a good thing, and it shows regardless of what % is actually AI generated.
