It’s something I have noticed too. 9/10 times an oncoming car is blinding me, it seems to be a Tesla. And not because their high beams are on. It might be confirmation bias, but it just seems like Tesla headlights have dogshit beam control optics on top of having fairly bright light sources.

No; in a free market without regulation. the bigger fish outcompetes the smaller ones, or buys them outright. Which then is exactly why enshittification works in the first place.

Personally I’ve had really good luck with the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 and R7800 models. They are supported by openWRT as well if you are into that. An issue might be that they are “only” WiFi 5 units. Some of the newer models in the Nighthawk series might be just as good, but i don’t have personal experience with those…
