This likely breaks your company’s terms of use. This can definitely lead to termination, especially since the other OS would likely not be monitor-able by them (opening them up to potential liability, along with the myriad of other issues)
This is my fourth profile on the Fediverse lol. This time, I’m hoping Mbin is where I stay!

Welp. I’m glad Stux was already updating earlier. Honestly, Stux probably knew before just about everyone else
Seems to have worked well for ya, lemme try

Maybe this won’t work since I’m on kbin.run?
The things I tend to gravitate towards:
I’m also a big fan of Mint for this, but also Fedora Kinoite. I can’t say I used Kinoite extensively, but I can say the bit I used it was far more stable than any other distro I used (and the backups-for-free approach really helped my anxiety lol)
Even in that article it says the only info they can provide (due to the no-logging) is payment info and email address.
If you’re doing something illegal and use a credit card attached to your name to do it, Nord is going to hand over your credit card info and they’ll know you did it through their VPN.
Likewise, if you do something illegal with their VPN and use your personal email, same thing.
That being said, I don’t personally use the VPN for anything illegal. If you do, I suppose you should probably either self-host or just Mull, but in my case I like Nord’s Killswitch and Mull’s is notorious for dropping off.
I’m curious to hear why you think that, I’ve been using it for a year and it’s better than ExpressVPN by a long-shot. Very few connectivity problems either and it has a Linux client…
This Gameranx video has a NordVPN sponsorship for a lower rate and 4 free months - it’s pretty dang affordable. If you can afford to get that, I’d definitely do that!
Good catch, sorry. Lubuntu, I just thought it used XFCE and not LXQt
Yes, this was my experience as well. Linux Lite was literally heavier-weight than Mint on my machine (probably due to the snaps)
I really hate to say this, but Lubuntu.
I enjoyed it for a solid few months (it’s a lightweight XFCE LXQt version of Ubuntu, so it worked great on my very underpowered MacBook Pro from ages ago) so it was heartbreaking when one day, randomly, I couldn’t get past the login screen and my TimeShift backups didn’t work.
If it wasn’t for this out-of-nowhere critical failure, I would say I loved it.
Nice! Congratulations!
Sometimes I feel like @The_Picard_Maneuver@startrek.website literally keeps my feed (and all my subscriptions) alive. Thank you for your service 🫡
This is (sadly) the way. Use a VPN to get a better deal in another country as well for extra bang for the buck
I started a decade ago on Ubuntu for an after-school cybersecurity club. From there, I eventually tried Mint and then Lubuntu and Kinoite. I’m now using Debian in WSL.
As others mentioned, Stremio + Torrentio is amazing. Just make sure you use, preferably, RealDebrid with it. If you can’t use RD, you can use a VPN, but it will cost you some playback speed.
PopcornTime as others have mentioned is amazing, but sadly I haven’t heard much about it lately. Honestly, Stremio + Torrentio is way better though in my opinion. It’s easy to set up and has a ton of shows.
