I wanted a mini with low power usage and fanless.

It also comes with windows. I would pick it over a pi every single time.

I bought this one to run my Home Assistant. $329 Canadian.

Definitely going to check out Orange (and Banana) Pis. Thanks!

Might as well just pickup a mini pc.

That’s a really good point. However, it looks like the displays aren’t identical. So it could be Apple design decisions or maybe they want a thinner display. Who knows?

Yup.

It is ver 1.0 for Apple. Same as touchscreen for laptops. Apple hasn’t done it.

I am an old IT guy. This was a hard and fast rule: Never buy version 1.0 of anything.

Seriously, I don’t think they care one iota about public support on this one. He’s already in front of a judge.

Seems like an odd thing to lie about as alleged terrorist activities also give them the right to search the phone.

included a $72 billion accounting charge reflecting an increase in the estimated value of bonds that could eventually convert into Anthropic shares, rather than cash costs tied to its operations
It’s a very common way for startups to raise money. In this case, the bond value goes up because of a perceived increase in the value of Anthropic.

I read the article but I still don’t know what value the ‘bee’ brings.

Why is the first paragraph repeated? Written by AI?

A more relevant number, to me, would be to track if self checkouts are decreasing.
At my home depot, all of the checkouts are self serve with an employee overseer if you have problems. If HD decides to open a ‘manned’ checkout counter, does that make the self checkout a failure? I dont see it that way.

Reads like a misleading statistic. Why would you invest in self-checkout if you already have it in place?
That is true, but it is also a setting easily changed with a one time update. I have zero problem with options. I don’t like the recommended section, but maybe some folks do. Same as Onedrive. Just google ‘how to use Windows without Onedrive’ and you’ll have it gone in a minute or two.

There’s a list but the main themes are the overall degradation in performance when they “upgraded” my PC from 10 to 11 and just how sloppy and half assed it seems to be. The obfuscated settings, the way it constantly seems to be putting itself in the way of whatever I’m trying to do, the spike of anger I get every time I open the start menu… Basically the overall experience just got worse by just about every measure.
I upgraded from 10 to 11 about 5 years ago, and there definitely is a learning curve. I would never go back to Windows 10. My experience was different, even PC’s that didn’t meet the 11 requirements ran better. I generally put my most used apps on the taskbar, and end up just searching for lesser used apps in the start menu. Not sure what you mean by ‘putting itself in the way’. Do you have an example of this?
Have fun with that. What was the issue at work?
Because I just want things to work.
