I bet that most of the steam flatpaks are on the Debian distros, specifically Mint. So if it wasn’t for steamos, Mint would probably be the first on the list.
Ubuntu has snap.

Can only number 80 be picked? I was hoping to be able to pick any number I want. between 50 and 60 is the best for my use case
It runs like shit in the open world. Sub 20 fps. The person who verified this probably played only the tutorial in the sewers. On top of that you have to run it on the lowest settings and subjectively, the old version on the highest settings looks better than the new version on the lowest settings in my opinion, while running with locked 60 fps.
Exactly this. When my brother has a problem with Windows, I just tell him this.
He doesn’t let me install linux on his PC, but when I told him that Valve is coming with their own Linux distro, he said that he will try that one when it comes out.
*Of course I try to fix his windows problem when I can.
I really wanted to like bookwyrm and use it but it’s just so bare bones. Instead, I switched from goodreads to StoryGraph like two years ago. I really like some of its features like content warnings, moods, very detailed stats of my reading habits, etc.
My brother plays games on Windows. I tried to convert him to Linux like two times, but he doesn’t want to do it. He doesn’t even play multiplayer games. Just single-player and co-op games. So Anticheat wouldn’t be a problem. When I said to him that Steam is releasing their own Linux distro, he said: Sure, I will try that.
That was almost 3 years ago and there still isn’t official steamos for desktop.
Thx this sounds like the best solution. Definitely trying it out. Idk how well I will be able to do it, Because I didn’t even made those containers myself. I just used proxmox helper scripts. Something came up today and I didn’t have time again, will try it tomorrow.
Ok, that doesn’t sound hard. I hope there are no more unforeseeable problems. When I create the new user in containers, should I create the same user in proxmox host and change ownership of the hdd, and all existing files in it, to it? Probably yes, right? Don’t have time today again, will try it tomorrow after work.
Thx for providing some alternative. I think I will still try to first make it work with mount points and local users. But I appreciate your post and will keep it in mind if I need to use it later.
Why not both? I currently have around 400 tabs open, and I cant even count how many bookmarks I have.
I was just about to write this… Proton is cool, but I only use mail from them. All my other services are independent from each other, and soon I will be self hosting most of them.
I currently have around 170 tabs open…
I guess I will just stick to good old “Download in sequential order” and watching it in vlc while it is downloading.
Unless your upload speed is really big, you wont get any meaningful ratio if you are only seeding while watching the movie(in reasonable quality).
My government doesn’t care about piracy. I will probably set up Stremio for some family members too. I will put Superflix addon on top and then torrentio. Superflix is pretty good because it doesnt use torrents, but it doesn’t have as many sources as torrentio of course, and quality is mostly listed as Auto. But for less tech savy family members it should be fine.
Good to know, thx. I guess I will stick to classical torrenting then.
I mean, I will try it. First in a virtual machine and if I like it well enough on a laptop too. But I don’t know, I used Fedora Silverblue and Kinoite before and my experience wasn’t satisfactory.
I know where you are coming from but I don’t think it’s that important especially not for me, Iam gaming right now on Linux Mint without a problem. And wasn’t steamdeck/steamos the first one who supported HDR?
Bazzite looks interesting, I might check it out. But I would still rather use SteamOS when it comes out. I like stable more, than up to date. And bazzite has so much stuffed into it and I wouldn’t use 90% of those features.
If pewdiepie is one of the most deplorable people in the world you know of. You must live in some kind of alternative universe and in paradise.
