Nah people just frame it as if you need to buy it, while that’s not true. No I’m not defending scummy practices, I’m just pro supporting software that you enjoy. That people like you can’t handle others opinions and immediately resort to calling it “fanboy or useful idiot.” The world doesn’t need to be a copy pasta of opinions

What does zorin lock behind the pro version? Some themes that you could make yourself if you wanted. And they package some apps that you could manualy download. What updates are you refering to?
Once again like Zorin, it isn’t required to use the base version. Projects take time and effort, support is optional. Debian also has a donation page gonna distrohop now too?
They don’t force you to buy anything. Almost all distros have a donation button on their site/git.
Nothing wrong with supporting projects you adore.
Define worst? It does what it says, it’s an easy stable distro for windows refugees. Slow updates doesn’t make something bad
3·4 months agoBeen through the same situation. Find a distro that you like, any decently user friendly distro will handle setting up the dual boot for you.
No need to reinstall games etc, just make sure you partition has enough storage for linux and pick that part during the install.
After that start slowly transitioning your games to linux. In steam toggle the compatibility setting, this will try to run proton over your games. Then only boot into windows when its necessary for VR/online games.
VM’s for gaming is not the best use case, lots of gpu needed…

Was about half a year back for a school survey. 6 - 10 participants and 1-5 survey lists. So it wasn’t even that much, but at some point I reached a limit.
So not even that big of scale but it still came up
Limesurvey is good, but requires a payed plan for large scale surveys.
4·1 year agoYeah that’s probable. Since changing some settings on the connections limits it has already increased, still not as much as peak download like you said.
No nothing configured by me on the router
I got internet by tethering my phone. After that I went through all the managers, tried installing b43 and after that wl. But both did nothing on the live usb boot. @RedNight left a link that suggests this macbook version wifi doesn’t work with linux. https://github.com/Dunedan/mbp-2016-linux
No luck. I used my phone as tether but none of the managers worked.

For me on ZorinOS, installing steam as flatpak gave me very bad performance on all games. Had to reinstall the APT version and now it runs smooth.
Also some games enable AMD settings because of Proton/Wine. If you are running Nvidia then untoggle these settings. I had this for Marvel Rivals. After disabling it performance was good.
