Ya, I must have started using Linux well after Ubuntu made it really easy to install drivers.
Granted you do need to know where to find the option to install drivers, at least you used to maybe its even easier now, but I havent used Ubuntu in a few years.

After getting a Steam Deck my interest in the Switch 2 dropped significantly.
I love my Switch and all the great 1st party games I have for it, but I cant justify buying the Switch 2 right now.
It’s tough getting 50-85% discounted games on Steam and then go back to Nintendo and seeing games at full price years after release (I know I know “Nintendo games retain their value”).
Not only that but I need to prioritize bills and essentials over games right now. Even with games being $5-10 on Steam I decide against it since I can use that towards groceries, gas, or utilities.
When I say buy I should have said renew the same license/support. I get the idea that by supporting Crossover I’m reinforcing Windows dominace, but look at Valve with proton and the Steamdeck. Their success shows that Linux is gaming capable which can get people to try Linux that otherwise would have wrote it off.

I buy a license for Crossover every year to support Codeweavers. I know its not much but its what I can do to show my support for such an amazing software (talking about WINE).
It’s great to see they are hiring, but I do hope they arent being rash with these openings. Ive work my fair share of tech companies and some have a culture to open positions because of KPIs and then 6 months to a year later have a massive layoff because they were completely off with their projections so now they have to cut positions which include some of the people hired well before the hiring bananza.
Ya, I’m sure they calculated the ROI for a monthly/yearly subscription vs the Virtual Console purchases and projected that the subscription would be not just larger source of income but also more consistent which “investors” (aka stockholders) will prefer so Nintendo’s stock goes up and to the right.

If you keep Bitlocker enabled on that partition you will have to enter the recovery key everytime you boot into your Linux partition. Since you don’t have that key backed up you’ll need to turn it off and then re-enable it if you wish to continue to use Bitlocker.
If you manually enable bitlocker you will be prompted to back up the key with a few different options: to a file (but if I recall you’ll need to save the file to a drive that isn’t be encrypted by Bitlocker) or to a Microsoft account.
To answer your question regarding best practice, Full Disk Encryption is best practice. Now to achieve that in Windows you use Bitlocker, Linux there is Luks, and macOS has filevault.
If your machine isn’t going anywhere outside your home then it’s not as big of a deal if the drive isn’t encrypted.
Regarding your situation FDE is going to be a bit of a pain whether you use Bitlocker or Luks. I suggest using db2’s suggestion and run a VM creating a shared folder between host and guest. Then you can encrypt the entire drive using the best encryption tool for the host OS (which I suggest be Linux).

If you don’t need/want Bitlocker simply boot into Windows go into the bitlocker settings and turn off bitlocker (dont use suspend as bitlocker will be re-enabled the next time you boot into Windows). You will need to wait for Bitlocker to decrypt before shutting down - there will be a small status window that appears showing the progress and it shouldn’t take too long.
If the fixes keep coming I might just get back into TF2. I first played it and got hooked through The Orange Box on the PS3 and then eventually on PC when i got a gaming laptop years later.
