21 days agoI only know the basics of networking, so I’ve been wondering why this “DNS-sinkhole” functionality can’t simply be implemented directly in private routers (as some kind of blocklist) instead of adding a new device to your network. Do routers not support this for technical or security reasons?
In the past years I have downloaded and archived about 200 GB of my favorite YouTube videos using yt-dlp. Most of them are short or low resolution for storage reasons, so it’s a lot more videos than you’d think. Now they can’t be taken away from me and I can watch them whenever I want.
