I had the same impression at least 4 years ago as well. More privacy maybe but less security definitely.
It’s great. My only complaint is that the character models are not to my taste at all. But theyre fine targets so it’s a minute issue.
Intentional, the game is made by Battlefield alums. This also means that playing the objective influences your score more directly than kill count does.

Probably so, there are a few native Linux builds on Steam that don’t have feature parity or segregate multiplayer for silly reasons. (Total War: Warhammer III for example uses an entirely different method to generate random numbers in the native Linux build so you need to use proton to play with ‘friends’ on Windows)
