

I’m sure it depends on the implementation… I turned it off on my Kia Sorento after it tried to follow the seams in the concrete instead of the lane markings, I had to fight it quite hard.

Yes, and hybrids have that advantage too, that’s the point I was trying to get across…
Some of us are Americans and have to live with these constraints…
You can’t fill your gas tank at home while you sleep…
Hybrids are more affordable than full electrics, and have some of the benefits… I have a Kia Sorento and its torque was enough to climb out of a pretty deep rut that would have required shifting into low4 on my dad’s 4x4… Plus it gets about 600 miles on a tank.
As someone who drove across country for the last eclipse - Phoenix to bfe Oregon - it’s worth doing once in your life. Even in the middle of nowhere, there were enough people around that when the moment of totality came, there was a very audible collective gasp, it was pretty awesome.
I live in the Phoenix area, there are tons of solar installations here. In fact my house has solar, had it when we bought it 10 years ago, and it cuts the power bill in half.
