I have it running at router level but to a local server (so Australian). My devices also have it on so I can quickly change location on whatever device I’m using too

If you’re not using a VPN to visit PB.org from a non- problematic country, are you even trying?

Hello fellow Aussie/Kiwi. No, they don’t. Or they kinda do but call it something else and it still usually runs through a middleman rather than a direct bank-to-bank transfer - E.g Visa’s Visa Debit or MasterCard’s Maestro. EFTPOS still doesn’t work online unless using a middleman either, like PayPal or Square.

So…if you’re just using web stuff, you could probably save a heap by using a Chromebook. That’s what my wife’s personal laptop is and is perfect for web stuff (and has the option of Android apps too, like Mozilla). It’s not her only computer though.

That is how case law works, yes.

No, I’d rather use my device like I want to use my device instead of how I’m told to use it. I don’t need to sideload on this device but glad I can if and when I want to. I prefer having a computer with me rather than a purposely stunted device kept that way to sell other devices in the ecosystem.

Honestly I wouldn’t touch Apple products with a bargepole. I dislike closed ecosystems

Likely due to your Netflix account suddenly not working for some reason and you’re missing the latest episode of Gabby’s Dollhouse

That’s why I subscribe to aww and dad jokes too

Ah, the ostrich approach to life.

We are long past peak oil. Look I’m not saying we’re not going to need oil long into the future and its use for aviation is currently unsurpassed but the argument is our reliance on oil is waning as newer technologies have come into play, especially in the power generation and automotive sectors. Chemical and plastic production is still vital and that can’t be done without oil. We’re not getting away from using it for a long tine but it’s past it’s peak.
What Dumpy forgets is supply and demand (because he’s one of the worst business people ever) and releasing more oil into the market from his imperialist acquisitions means a drop in value - even the oil execs were apprehensive as to whether the takeover of Venezuela and being told they need to fix up their processing was a good thing as they don’t want the market flooded as that will cause the cost of oil to plummet.

Thats because he’s stuck in the 80s. It’s common for people with dementia to fall back to a time they thought was good and for him, it was the 80s when oil was king.

Corporate trolls, state-sponsored trolls, agents and repost bots are at least 60% of the users and much more in some active subs like askreddit and any news subreddit (especially if critiquing genocide or war-raged areas). It’s just sad and so obvious.

I’m fairly new to Lemmy and started an account when all the api’s went down (because the reddit app suck) but ended up back there when I got one of them to work (at cost).
Until I got banned for “hate speech” by a random mod because they didn’t know the lyrics to Fairytale of New York and appeals go nowhere and then I commented on something on a different user account and got perma-banned for ban-evasion. All dumb.
So now I’m back on lemmy permanently, trying to find as many communities as I had in my reddit subscriptions (I had a lot), and bringing my daily engagement here. Would be good if numbers went up, but also, there’s a lot of idiots on Reddit too. The Fediverse needs better SEO to drive engagement. I haven’t once seen a solution to a problem (e.g. IT, tech or DIY) that links to a fedi page.
So now we know what to do with the
bodiesburnable items.
