Blame a right wing activist mod on lemmy.world’s politics sub. Had a 7 month old account permabanned despite the fact that the day after my ban the mod was kicked from the community for being a shitheel. Sent the site admins the proofs, they didn’t give a fuck.

I use 2 different google accounts.

My daily driver which has all my browsing history turned off, so I only really see my subs.

A secondary with browsing history on that I only use to search and browse new content to subscribe to on my main.

So far its worked pretty well.

Good.

Anyone still left there doesn’t need to hear about this place.

for now Reddit is still a font of information and advice from knowledgeable people.

That too is changing. For the last few months, most technical posts I search on reddit are starting to get filled with [Deleted] for all the actual answers as reddit’s current push to ban left leaning users has removed all the people who actually were interested in giving answers in the past.

I mean yeah, there was always a few [Deleted]s in every old thread but in the last half year it has become the majority of them.
