Looking at the PieFed graph, and all-time peak usage seems to be for last month, and the dip for this month could be explained by the month not being over yet (and even if not, it’s not an indicator of decline).

A few solutions I could think of right off the bat:

If someone has physical access to your laptop, can’t just turn it on and spill a glass of water on it?

It’s okay. Also, never heard of that one

Small instances, not small communities (although I guess sopuli.xyz is small enough?)

Can someone recommend some small instances to post in?

Well, it’s pretty good to not have to go to Reddit to comment on a post. Similarly, I’m considering looking for a way to bridge some of the subreddits I made with their PieFed counterparts (or, preferrably, my instance counterparts when I make one) so that posts and comments from Reddit are automatically bridged over to fedi, and maybe vice versa as well.

Thank you!

Can I track my progress by making this comment here and editing it as I go?

I agree. That said, I’d imagine it would be easier to start new communities - and probably a new instance to host said communities - than to change things by complaining here. That’s the part of what makes the Fediverse great, after all.

It would probably help if your AI can check if a post is labeled as OC (I guess a simple local language model should be enough for something this trivial, maybe some edge case detection for manual review) and re-label it as a repost.

Thanks! I’ve been having some thoughts about Mars settlement lately.
Ah, okay, I got it. I love doing string operations to get math results tho, especially when programming.
I could use logarithms… or I could len(str(n))-1
This one should be roughly 39.1. It has 39 digits after the 1, 1.39 cubed is closer to 2 than 4, and 2 has a natural logarithm 0.3 so 1.39 should have a natural logarithm of roughly 0.1.
idk why would it feel wrong tho? when the logarithm is greater than zero, the integer part of it is how long it is minus one.
Scientific notation is great and all but sometimes you just need a bunch of zeroes in the number to really hammer in how big/small something is.

I’d guess there is a balance to be struck.

It’s always worth pushing for the fediverse.

I’d say the fediverse is somewhat protected against the drawbacks of growth in a way Reddit isn’t.

wait, really? TIL, I guess
Fair enough.
