I agree that comments like that are unhelpful/unnecessary, but how is that “for their own benefit”? Other than the actual devs themselves using that as a way to just ignore issues, I do not follow
Wtf is search engines and why is no one explaining it
it’s almost flawlessly jailbreakable, allowing you to play anything that was produced for it, including games for PS1 and PS2!
Do all models support PS2 emulation? Unlike with official firmware, where only a few models have that support.
SuiPlay0X1 runs Playtron’s device-agnostic gaming operating system, enabling gamers to play both Web3 and Web2 games across PC and mobile.
GamesBeat have some more details, noting it will have "native Sui blockchain integration via zkLogin and Sui Kiosk SDKs, enabling asset ownership directly connected to a device’s account system for the first time in the gaming industry
What is a web3 game? Something that allows you to grind for NFTs?
I am not a fan of that naming scheme, but it definitely predates Reddit. I remember the old Saw films being described as “torture porn”.
Good thing that it went to Wine I guess, as they do lots of work to get old Windows programs up and running in Linux and that often involves Mono.
I see this as the main purpose of this transfer of ownership. When it comes to developing new software, MS has their modern tech stack for creating cross-compatible code, and the recommendation is to use that. But that is not helpful when trying to get old legacy software running on a modern system. So MS is giving this “outdated” technology to the WINE team. A team whose primary goal is getting incompatible software to run in the “wrong” environment. This should allow WINE to continue to properly handle older Mono software for the foreseeable future.
Not sure there was ever a “formal” announcement/promise, but yeah, this was mentioned as being the plan since before the Steam Deck was even released. People were expecting a general SteamOS ISO to be available on launch day.
It did not fit the criteria to be included in the experiment.
I used the latest release of each app, but did not include pre-releases. I only included apps that have released an update in the last 6 months
Not only has Eternity not been updated in almost an entire year, but it is still a pre-release (v0.1.2 at the moment).
“Only people who speak English as a first language should have access to powerful software.”
I have definitely installed a handful of APKs over the years that did not work for me because they required Play Services, but that is far from being most of the APKs I’ve tried.
Are you implying that the host OS in those situations is not Linux?
they have updated the list with newer models they weren’t on the list a few months ago
You must be confusing it with GrapheneOS. LineageOS has literally always supported devices from multiple different manufacturers.
Prerequisites
- NVIDIA graphics card
Any idea the best way for us AMD folk?
It officially only supports CentOS which doesnt even exist anymore lol.
It is supported on Rocky Linux.
Anyway, I assume this doesn’t make things any easier to get it to run on an AMD GPU, is that correct?
Direct link to article:
https://news.itsfoss.com/mastodon-link-problem/
TL;DR:
When you share a link on Mastodon, a link preview is generated for it, right?
With Mastodon being a federated platform (a part of the Fediverse), the request to generate a link preview is not generated by just one Mastodon instance. There are many instances connected to it who also initiate requests for the content almost immediately.
And, this “fediverse effect” increases the load on the website’s server in a big way.
Does Lemmy not cause this issue? Other federated software was not mentioned in the article at all.
Just know that Wine >9.4 is currently bugged and will not work with yabridge. There is a discussion on Github about installing 9.4 and holding it from updating.
Using yabridge?
Wait, you do or do not just use Linux for music production?
Yes and no
