So much this. I stopped using my Bluetooth headphones because they would connect while still inside the charging box (after done with charging). Super annoying and they’d run out of battery if I didn’t make sure to check if they had unloaded themselves from staying connected. Maybe crappy headphones design but the issue never happened when I manually unpaired them.

Reddit got more important once it Google ranked higher and the astroturfs found out, that people trust a review on Reddit inside a thread more, than multi million dollar marketing scam action, trying to game Google algorithm or other sites. The same will sooner or later happen to the fediverse if it ever grows. It’s unavoidable, sadly.

Damn, if only Spez didn’t have fucked up Reddit. I even wanted to invest in that IPO, but now I’m not going to.

I don’t think it’s an issue with phones, as TVs and monitor have static elements for half a day or longer, phones tend to be one for minutes, maybe a few hours max.

My phone doesn’t even have a hint of a burn-in after 3 years of heavy usage (Galaxy S10). I use it way more than most people, often 8 hours a day.

Since my first OLED (Galaxy s6) I’ll never buy a phone without OLED ever again. It’s a huge difference when reading stuff in OLED mode apps and at night. I’d never trade that for anything.

How do you tell it’s copied from Reddit. I haven’t seen a single one but I also use Reddit less and less.

It’s apples fault for not selling iPhone with android OS. I use Android phones, which leaves me the option to buy from whatever company I want. I’d consider an iPhone with android OS if it had compatibility to other android and iOS devices. But for apple it seams to be more important to sell an OS and ecosystem and not more hardware. Though technically they sell some extra hardware by locking people up into a golden cage. Android will remain the smarter choice as you have freedom of choice. Apple you don’t and there’s no way to argue that fact away.

Yes, nationalizing YouTube would work, or more so an Internal team, founded by all nations. Btw Germany has some sort of “Youtube”, paid by people and not government founded. It’s very limited as you can’t upload and only watch. The content is also only what is decided by the owners. Theoretically we’d just need to expand that, to allow uploads and get money by more than just the German citizens. I always had that dream, as it would provide a fully ads free platform. Not sure why that isn’t already a thing, as video platforms are an integral part of our society by now.

Also Lemmy banned a lot of bot accounts, so the user number is to take with a huge grain of salt. It could in fact be up from before the bot fiasco.

I guess I have yet to understand why I’d want it to run a full OS. Is it because of contactless pay? I think the new Mii band version can do that too. Maybe the only feature I miss, but then on when I go shopping I have my phone with me anyways.

Honestly. I’ll stick to my 35€ Mii band. I use it since 4 years now. Battery lasts over 2½ weeks. Can still read Whatsapp/sms, control my audio, measure heart rate and wear it inside the pool. 350 bucks just because the screen is bigger? Okay.

I use Bitwarden. What could be better integrated? I click on the login input field and it suggests all saved logins for that website. I touch once and it’s inserted. Done.

AI absolutely plays like a human as it’s trained by humans. The only difference is, AI will do the most optimal move, while humans might hesitate. That’s also the reason why it’s bad to put AI into fighter or bomber jets. The AI has a clear goal but a human might struggle to fire at an unknown target. Because the human has to life with the consequences.

DRM already only does check for validity every other frame or even minute. There’s no use in a game that just closes because it recognized a violation. You do know what causes Denuvo fps spikes? It’s whenever it checks. Of course the software got better by now so it’s less of an issue but it’s still there.

Look up RSA algorithms and project that to other mathematically complex DRM protections. You’re wrong because you don’t understand the tech.

In short.

Look up what AI does good right now, like finding complex solutions to mathematical issues a human couldn’t. Calculate stuff very fast, replicate natural language etc.

Look up what AI struggles with at the moment, like drawing hands or recognizing objects or driving a car.

This statement is only valid in this current state, as AI is advancing faster than most peoples mind by now. Most people have yet to understand LLM or generative AI models.

That’s what I’m talking about. If you look at the process required to crack Denuvo, then you’ll notice that there’s a lot of guesswork done, something the AI is good at if learned properly. The amount of people who know how to and are willing to spend time cracking Denuvo is shrinking by the day. The amount of software DRM encrypted is rising every day. We need automation soon.

AI will soon be mandatory for software security as malicious actors will use AI to find zero day exploits and you want an AI to protect you from those real time threats. Anti Virus software already work somewhat into that direction by now but there’s still much room.
