Meshtastic is cool I wish there were more public users around me.
OpenStreetMap and their editors are great and I use them a lot, but if you really want to have great flexibility with your map design QGIS is Open Source

Since RIF went down I’ve read a lot more. Some dry history stuff, a few thrillers, a re-read of a book I initially read in High School and now The Hobbit for the first time.
If anyone here doesn’t know your local library probably has access to different ebook apps. Mine mainly does libby and a few others too. Anyway it helps your library, and you get to read all kinds of stuff for free.
It’s not surrounded by a ton of corporate bs. I know the us govt has their own openstreetmap setups (like this basic unclassified one) and wiki sites (intellipedia) because it’s a proven framework to set up and add your own information.
