It’s almost like bugs and such rarely affect everyone. I can say just about the same thing about any OS. YOUR experience isn’t necessarily someone else’s.

Linux has always been the way you’ve described across many different distros for me over the years.

By far the most stable for me was Fedora. I’ve been running CachyOS over the last year or so and it’s been solid.

Until today. For some reason KDE takes forever to startup now. A few apps have this problem as well.

Opening up a text editor to copy and paste 2 lines and then saving the file on your desktop so you can double click is still not even remotely the same as changing your oil. It’s closer to putting air in your tires for your bicycle.

We’re already in the context of someone has installed Linux as their OS on their computer, I’m assuming they have the knowledge to create a shortcut on a desktop and copy 2 lines into it… Like you don’t even need to go into the CLI to do this.

It’s baked into several distors I’ve seen. Pop, Ubuntu…

It has nothing to do with being a Linux nerd. More of all engineer thing. Using the best tool for the task.

Also literally creating a script or batch file on your desktop is basic baby level computer shit. Double clicking is hard for some I guess.

Linux has come an incredible way in terms of gaming and even general desktop usage, it’s still not quite there for me because a few things are quite lacking like HDR and Dolby Atmos.

Yes, AMD was replacing Ryzens that had that bug. I’m not sure if they are anymore though. But it’s 100% a confirmed thing. I have not heard anything Zen 2 and newer having this problem and have no experienced any Linux issues with my 3000, 5000 and 7000 series CPUs.
