That’s fine, LLMs use mainly em dashes so there would be no confusion, hence that being the litmus test.

Throw them into a lake, I guess. If they sink and drown, they’re innocent. If they float, you know they’re full of (buoyant) shit (and can then safely burn them at the stake if you want to).
There’s always one good litmus test, if you can ask someone live before they have a chance to do a Google search: ask what the alt code is for an em dash.
If they don’t immediately answer 0151, they’re full of shit.
Yeah, don’t even use phones out in sunlight for too long. It’s so easy to forget until one day you put your phone on a table in the sun for a few minutes and suddenly it does an emergency shutdown to avoid overheating.
Likely Canada is part of the same US supply chain. If devices are shipped first to somewhere like California before being distributed north across the border, or something. They’d be hit by tariffs after arriving in the US and then the cost extends to wherever those devices are eventually sold.
I think gold could become a less coveted substance just in terms of value as a status symbol, but it could still benefit from being mass produced just due to its material properties. It’s a good conductor, doesn’t tarnish, is very malleable, etc.
Currently many orders of magnitude more expensive than just buying an equivalent amount of gold, but makes me wonder what the future might be capable of with those proofs of concept.
Science circling back around to alchemy is an interesting thought.
Maybe they’re a Chrome user, Chrome fully deprecated ublock origin last week.
Users could choose their own color scheme, default was a light blue.
Which red, blue, yellow, and green icon on a white background are you looking for?
Maybe it’s just a fun hobby, like why people ride horses when motor vehicles exist. Maybe he just wants to race on a level playing field.
The people you’re messaging might, though.
They’re thick in the “ads bring us more money than making improvements” phase of corporate bullshit now.
Reddit still can’t make a better app than the ones made by solo developers who just did it as a passion project, but they’ve got enough money to throw around for a Superbowl ad spot and an entire ad campaign on YouTube.
Try a wired mouse, it wouldn’t surprise me if a lot of wireless mice might not work. I’ve seen articles that wired mice work.
That was my main point of optimism as well. I couldn’t care less about the Joycon mouse support, but if they supported the Joycons as mice, it would mean that the system needed native mouse support and would likely work with other mice.
I think we may be thinking of different concepts. I was thinking this conversation was more about having a game that’s free with all console purchases, such as Astro’s Playroom for the PS5 and Wii Sports for the majority of the Wii’s life, which is a bit different from a console/game bundle.
That page may need updating too, because Nintendo still does game bundles. They did several for the Switch, like this Smash Bros edition one a friend of mine got which came with the game, or the Mario Kart bundle they’re making available at launch for the Switch 2. But these are basically limited run specials, and usually you’re still paying some certain amount extra for the game versus a standalone console purchase.
Did they? I’m struggling to think what other generations had other than the Wii.
I know for Wii U at least, their demo game was “Nintendo Land” and you had to pay for that one too.
I’m using Niagara personally, but I know it’s a radically different experience and probably not something I’d recommend to anyone looking for something comparable to Nova. Niagara is also not FOSS if that is a priority.
I know there are some FOSS launchers out there with similar features to Nova that folks on Lemmy have recommended in the past, but I don’t know them offhand and haven’t used them myself enough to be a judge of quality.
It’s probably not even bad sticking with Nova, because at least to my knowledge they haven’t gone sketchy yet, but it’s something to keep an eye on. Analytics companies typically aren’t very trustworthy, especially when it comes to user privacy.
Just be careful, Nova Launcher is owned by a user telemetry collection company now and the majority of the original dev team was kicked from the project not too long ago.
That was enough reason for me to lose trust in them and switch to something else. If the app hasn’t gotten shady yet, I feel it is only a matter of time.
Hmmm, I think to know for sure, we’ll have to throw your device into a lake. Apples float, so if it’s a genuine Designed By Apple in California™ computer that supports that option, it won’t sink and then we’ll know you’re telling the truth.
