Set up aqm or whatever it’s called on openwrt.
It makes a huge difference.

Not what I asked but let’s explore this:
No thank you, I will instead use every tool at my disposal to get a job I want. If a software package can more reliably alleviate the brain farts and social discomfort associated with zoom meetings I’ll use it over taping a list of reminders or a mind map to the edge of my monitor any day.

The point of a tool like this is the non-technical part of the interview process.
It’s not a problem that it only applies to that component.
That’s like saying the problem with a Phillips head screwdriver is that it doesn’t turn torx head bolts. Of course it doesn’t. It’s not meant to do that.
My Phillips driver isn’t deficient because it can’t remove the torx bolts that hold my nvme tray to the frame of my laptop, its job is to get me past the Phillips head screws securing the bottom cover in place so I can access those Torx bolts with the correct tool.

How should a person implement a stt prompter for use in remote interviews without using llms?
I’m genuinely interested in hearing the alternative.

Don’t listen to that person. His last post was about his Winamp clone that only plays oggs made this year.
There is no person who should say that kind of stuff less than him.
Okay. Build a weird farm use only modified v10 excursion with half the body removed and a gooseneck receiver welded on.
If you find it too limiting to tape together the standard utilities then do what your intro to programming class did when you learned c and write your own utilities and libraries, zip them up and store them on a cheap vps you can remember the ip or fqdn of and yank them down onto whatever system you happen to be on, pardon the turn of phrase, like a normal person.
The reason a particular style of pressure fitting is mandated by law to be used for hydraulic connections between cabs and trailers isn’t because it’s the most versatile, repairable or even most secure type but because its manual of operation is simple, straightforward and very importantly: excludes off label or dangerous uses.
An alternative to the standard utilities or Unix way is something you want because you think it will be easier and faster and more versatile. It might be that way for you. Combination wrenches tend to have the sizes and shapes they do to accommodate working around the spaces their size of fitting tends to be in and because the wrench snapping in half when you try to operate it with a breaker bar is the tools way of telling you to begin destructive removal of the fastener instead of continuing to pour pb blaster into it.
The Unix way isn’t for people who can’t integrate those tools.
Ever been in the drivers seat of an 18 wheeler? Even just getting into one requires more physical exertion than getting into your car. When you’re up there you have a million gauges and controls meant to provide the operator the tools they need for any situation they might encounter and to interface with a galaxy of stuff that can be hooked up to the back. You need a special license which encapsulates this different paradigm of use, operating a gigantic vehicle under much different and more variable conditions than the everyday driver (in addition to approaching normal road conditions and functions like turning left with a different outlook and awareness).
It’s why I often tell people not to switch to Linux. It’s not for them.

If it’s not open source, remove them.
If they’re open source then the people posting them are in the right place.
A policy like what’s being suggested in the op will only be walked back in a few months.
E: also disclosure is a stupid requirement. All it does is give people something to fight over and there’s no industry accepted process for evaluating ai code as opposed to human written code, so disclosure doesnt even serve a useful purpose. It’s literally just giving people something to argue about when the hypothetical post is ostensibly about the software or what it accomplishes.
I do that kind of dumb crap all the time because restoring a workbench machine is a pain in the ass and I’d prefer to not surface a foreign hive to it.
Sometimes you need to take a look at a hive from a Linux machine.

It’s not bullshit. I deal with the repair and engineering side of 1/8” phone jacks and they’re fucking stupid ass miniaturized versions of designs from 70 years ago that have to maintain mechanical backwards compatibility with several profiles and conductor arrangements, literally cannot be reliably implemented in a high IP way, cost a bunch, are worse to clean than even usbc and provide a very high leverage thing to torque on your board as well as necessitate additional pcb space for the dac and its power conditioning, shielding and other stuff.
And people who like 1/8” will just buy a dongle anyway.

The problem the op is having is solved with the nvidia drivers. The most common (and nvidia supported!) method of installing them on their distribution is to install the nvidia drivers through the apt repository some other nvidia supported way. In the case there is a problem with a driver update, there is a higher chance someone will document and explain a resolution to that hypothetical problem based on the normal apt installation of nvidia drivers in a format that the op will find when they go looking for a solution on the internet.
Their capacity to run the two photo and video editing programs is something they’ll have to figure out no matter what they do and they said as much in their op, but the nvidia drivers fix the other problem and the apt repo or some other nvidia supported method of installing them is the appropriate suggestion.
Gaming on flatpack just adds another layer of complexity to a system the op already doesn’t understand how to use.

Add the nvidia apt repository and install the drivers.

All the subscription models that were primarily chatbots before have first party agentic harnesses now so more people have had positive experiences that they want to share.
I’d either go with a Debian derivative (or Debian) or a red hat derivative (or red hat). Or suse I guess.
At a time like this it would be bad to approve of or recommend some weirdo mess. Just crawl on board one of the big boats till the waves die down a bit.
Even in that case we need to hope they’re using ai tools because they’ll be seeing a volume of cases too high for their previous workflow.
Seeing slopsayers and rust aficionados fight in the comments is like coming across a baron and revenant going at it in melee.
Hell yeah.
