Maybe the whole corporate internet. Unless we’re forced into aol style portals by the death of net neutrality i think most of the lemmy user base will be fine. Shout-out to /c/selfhosted for those looking to get ahead of the permission gate.

This is sad to me. When I was younger and would get lonely enough I’d go to a bar and talk to strangers. When I was a little bit older I would just post on social. Neither of those things are particularly useful or productive but they at least involved other people. I’m glad I wasn’t being targeted with ads about how great AI is and reading articles about its effectiveness (nyt [i think] had one in the last few days.) I’m an introverted person and it used to take a good bit of discomfort to get me out and talking to people. If I had something that provided a good enough simulacrum of social contact without the anxieties and weirdness that can come from talking to strangers I think my life would be very different. It’s important to spread awareness of the dangers of robosexuality
I agree, people were telling me to RTFM in support chats on irc 30 years ago.
Desktop environment
Have you thought of using an ftp server? That dir tree view used to be the default.
How well keep syncs lists between users is the only reason I can’t pull my wife from it and migrate fully to joplin. That and the drop from list on checkbox behavior.
Yeah, I went straight from rif to jerboa. I tried the other early apps but they were all very “cardy”
Paginated articles so I could “turn pages” with my volume keys or tapping the screen instead of scrolling. Useful for me because I like eink devices.
I loved pocket when it let me tap to turn but then that got stripped out and I never used it again
Now I’ll have to find a new appstore for my degoogled phone. Thanks Amazon!
Can you access the http ports from outside your home network?
Lol now you know. That’s the most we tend to get out of some problems!
Lol wtf! Are these like novelty cursors or something? Does arch not come with a default cursor? The only thing odder to me than this problem is that two people had it! The internet is great and technology always entertaining.
Good luck friend. I found this article relating to clearing segfaults. Maybe something they’re helps. Out of my wheelhouse for advice.
Do you have backups from before your last update? If so of start there. If not, try to uninstall and reinstall the AUR packages once at a time. You probably also have some kind of option to look for broke packages and repair them with your package manager. Another thing to try would be to open say vscodium from the cli and see if it outputs anything useful when the program fails.
Edit: this isn’t an exhaustive list and I don’t use arch, but it’s what I would do if I were on a rolling distro.
Edit 2: Here’s the commands for your package manager. Make a current state backup and then start looking for your problem. Section 7 to start with from the website.
Cool thanks. I get the distinction now. I use Joplin for some of the features mentioned and do like it. Notion sounds pretty neat too.
Can you expand on your last point? Where do we move to from document based software? That seems like a bigger change than the change from typewriter to word processor.
To add to this users data, I used my supplied att router for Homelab stuff for like a year and it worked very well. I did go back to openwrt but didn’t really need to, just for familiarity’s sake. My networking needs at the time were headscale/wireguard and adguard home. All my other services were unaffected by switching routers.
