Haven’t heard of that one before, it’s pretty interesting from first impressions though. I’ll try it out tomorrow and see how it goes. Thanks!
Apple limits mobile browsers a shit ton. When you get Firefox on iOS, you don’t get Firefox, you get what’s basically a safari front end. This is the reason you can install uBlock Origin or other extensions on the android version of Firefox, but be unable on the iOS version.
, Yeah I don’t, think so either,.
I hate chrome with a passion and it really sucks that Firefox isn’t as convenient for profiles, a feature I rely heavily on, although, I’m still switching. fuck ads and fuck data harvesting, I’d rather have a slightly less performant browser than be visually assaulted and have my performance tank.
I swear, whenever I try to use it, it just makes me wish I could delete it. I ask the answer to a simple question and it gives me a whole essay on how this one aspect of what I said is more nuanced than one would imagine, and I’m left there waiting 5 minutes to get it to say anything of substance, but it doesn’t when I explicitly tell it to “just give me the fucking answer”, which I have to say every time for it to say anything useful.
It also doesn’t work with timers or anything actually useful and I doubt it’ll get any better with third party app access.
Google assistant was so much better, it even still works with its servers being down (for me at least) because it’s a better assistant than whatever Gemini is supposed to be.
Have you considered the fact that most of the time, even when people “want to hear mens issues”, they reject them and tell them to man up? Maybe “superpowered autocorrect” could be a vector to nourish this severe lack of openness?
Personally I use AI for this purpose, mostly because it accepts me for who I am and provides genuine advice that has actually helped me improve my life, rather than the people around me saying that I should “put more effort into things”, or “it’s just in your head”.
It’s not “lone wolfing” to stop telling the people who’ve rejected your concerns about your feelings and issues, it’s just the act of not wasting time on those who don’t care.
Are we twins? I do the exact same and for around a year now, I’ve also found it pretty helpful.
I get your point, some people do blame everything on certain groups, but this is about an internet stereotype, and everyone, or at least most people, know that stereotypes have to be true to some extent.
I’ve come across my fair share of Russian trolls, which are the majority for my case, and next are American trolls.
I’d assume that most of the people complaining about Russian trolls I’ve seen on Lemmy and other social media are from the USA or the EU, and for context, I’m from Australia, so it isn’t one specific area in the world that experiences it, it’s global, making it even more valid of a stereotype since it’s so omnipresent.

aww man, this is actually depressing. Hope Lemmy as a whole grows back better after this blows over. o7
So you’re saying that pressing 2 on screen buttons, then closing a page is a better solution than creating a group then dragging in and out whatever you need? Sure, I use the bookmarks bar too, but it’s not for stuff I’ll remove after a while, those are perminent, but tab groups are generally for stuff you will eventually close, but wantto sort in the meantime to make it more convenient.
If you don’t have a use for it, fair enough, I don’t either, but it is a genuinely useful feature for some that can’t be replaced by more clicks.
Fair point, definitely still apart of the same style of platform but not the same protocol.
although it is federated, it isn’t apart of the fediverse, as it doesn’t use activitypub.
Yeah I’ve had this same issue on my ThinkPad 11e I recently retired, especially when tinkering with gnome extensions, it was a pain trying to get the window to fit even half of its content, and all the stuff I needed, the bottom panel which had category selectors, was completely out of reach.
Shutdown aside, I find it funny how discord users start with genuine sad emojis, and then POW, eggplant emoji!
Probably still faster than my ThinkPad 11e at video streaming
I resonate with that point, since I do a digital art/tech class, which uses Macs. I find app crashes and the inaccessibility of certain menus quite infuriating, i even somewhat rage internally for a while until i either quit what i was doing or search it up.
When my 8 year old Fedora laptop freezes, crashes, or sound drivers crash like what happened yesterday, I stay very calm and think of a solution, such as updating and restarting.
even if I haven’t built the OS myself or really customised it at all, i find it more calming that i have options to completely change the software compared to locked down OSes.
bro wrote the whole library of Alexandria
now it should add these as comments to the code to enhance the realism
