For example, one major AI model changed the race or sex of historical figures — including the Pope, the Founding Fathers, and Vikings — when prompted for images because it was trained to prioritize DEI requirements at the cost of accuracy. Another AI model refused to produce images celebrating the achievements of white people, even while complying with the same request for people of other races.

Ahhh, so white men are the victims of woke AI, got it.

Semi-joking, but legitimately the obsolescence of phones that work along with the idea that they need to innovate all the time is my old man complaint. I recognize that no one is forcing me to upgrade, but that doesn’t stop them from gently nudging consumption for consumption’s sake whenever launching often.

Tldr: genuine kudos to them for not having a yearly phone, but the idea that a 2 year gap is great still frustrates my soul.

I have a script to self-sign 10 year certs on internal traffic only, and then added my public cert to devices needing it. I’m going to be really annoyed in a decade, but until then I’m having a ball 🙂

I think its due to ending on a cliffhanger. Originally meant to be a single season, the creator split it up. I’m still waffling, because IMO I want to know what happened, and given it was meant as one it should be.

But also, I can understand not having a load of condensing to fit the Netflix requested number of episodes.

I waffle so hard here: on the one hand, php’s “juggling” does make for faster implementation, and is super convenient. The part where it fails is during that juggle it can have super weird behavior, especially in coercing strings to numeric values.

I’ve started going the route of explicit types in all new functionality and having tests cover the awry situations that can occur, mainly because it can help prevent those “odd” situations by throwing up a big red flag rather than just “oh, I think I’ve got what you want here.”
