It’s so dumb. I have the same problem. I have an iPhone and I try to get them to use Signal, but they just keep using SMS and we keep getting garbage video being sent over group text since some of the group uses Android. When I complain they start putting stuff in Google Photo Albums instead of just using a decent messenger.
I wonder if this is unique to the region. One of the things that turned off myself and many other westerners to Chinese and even Korean marketing and pop is how awfully artificial and sanitized the models were to the point where they looked plastic despite being real. It’s like they were dolls. I guess AI is not far removed from that look.
I think the vitriol that comes with the term “retarded” is different. People often make faces or try to sound intellectually disabled when they say it. It gets gross in a way that the other terms don’t match.
This is another reason why the AI bubble is going to burst. Once people actually start paying the true cost of these services (instead of them being subsidized as they are now) the rates they will have to charge will not be worth the value for many applications. The environmental impact has a high dollar value.
