It was absolutely better under Macromedia.
Because you’re just cool like that.
Not the person you’re asking, but I mostly watch craft stuff, particularly 1:12 scale dollhouse miniatures and sewing. The most recent video I could find that was even remotely relevant is several months old and about a different kind of miniature.
Maybe, but that doesn’t quite track with what I experienced. It was for a fairly well known company that builds industrial tools and machines, and I interviewed at their HQ, so I don’t think it was an agency building a pool.
The screening part sounds right, but I think these guys were doing it in-house.
I’m here from /all so I can confirm this is happening in non-tech too. Not too long ago, I interviewed to be a product photographer for an industrial manufacturer, and the people who were interviewing me knew nothing about the job I was interviewing for.
They couldn’t tell me what camera they used in house, they couldn’t tell me what editing software they used, they couldn’t tell me about the lights, they couldn’t tell me anything. It’s like if the interviewers said you’d use ‘computers’ but couldn’t tell you which OS they were running.
Nobody deserves this kind of pain
Tbh, yeah. I’m a woman with an inoperable brain tumor, and I can completely understand why people would be reluctant to accept “nothing to be done” as a real answer.
If I thought I deserved to live, I’d probably talk to a LLM about it because this topic drags everybody down, and my therapist only sees me once a week. Though, I’ve heard its good for helping people not live, so maybe its worth a shot after all.
I just don’t know how they’re getting away with calling it ‘full self driving’ if it’s not fully self driving.
On the other hand, I really do wonder how many of those 300m views were also not human views.
TIL it can be either?
Yeah, you don’t pay for software, you pay for support that won’t insult you. Seeking support for FOSS stuff is like running a gauntlet of people who insist you’re too stupid to use it.
If we want normies to use FOSS, the community needs to stop saying normies don’t deserve FOSS.
I think it’s because it’s great for group messages too. SMS/MMS is kinda shit, especially when somebody has an iPhone and their iMessage interferes (seriously, enough of the ‘loved an image’ spam). IRC gets blocked on a lot of public networks because of its association with piracy, so that makes it less than reliable.
Discord is pretty full featured too, like IRC doesn’t do group calls, and getting a group phone call going is a pain. Being able to have different channels is also super nice, because you can have a channel for, idk, birthday party planning to keep it from vanishing in the general daily chitchat. I’ve used it with roommates to get everybody on board with a grocery list before, because we all had Discord accounts anyways.
It’s just useful enough as a community tool.
This is how you get republicans wanting to use RATM on the campaign trail
Be the change you want to see
An “introduction” to lemmy that’s buried behind clicking through vague smalltext, and not any of the brightly colored buttons enticing you to pick a server.
This is bad UX.
Implying I didn’t feel old then, lmao
