discord doesn’t need phone numbers but forbids 3rd party client implementations. telegram needs phone numbers and mandates their proprietary client for registration.
imo they’re both equally bad lol

airdrop, while proprietary, seems to be a pretty stable and reliable protocol considering its backwards compat (from iphone 5 to latest) and usability… recently heard google started supporting airdrop with iphones on their phones, maybe can airdrop itself just be used instead of just a ‘similar’ one…?

something that’s officially supported by either ubports or sailfishos. postmarketos/mobian/etc is great but still seems pretty rough.

tbh i think its better to have piracy stuff on github and keep ban evading rather than places like codeberg. codeberg might actually fall apart if some copyright troll decides it’s annoying…
slackware ftw

i knew somebody here actually daily drives it :)
may i ask which device you use it on?

their android compat layer is proper and actually works though proprietary afaik.
also afaik but their OS seemed to lack a decent browser, the best option was running firefox on the android compat layer…

if you have a lot of money, purism phones probably kinda work

ngl i’m actually curious and want to watch this

i would just use sms/mms. it’s easier to manage (backups and stuff)

you mean the serial key on their website? it’s an “install key” officially provided by microsoft, essentially a dummy key to fill as a placeholder (on unattended installs mostly)
you should use the MAS script and use its HWID or TSForge option, it should work.

PhilZ Touch is some ancient recovery used back in like 2013. Had a very basic but usable ui.
wasn’t aware TWRP is unmaintained; indeed, seems like the last major release 3.7.1 was on early 2024… time flies.

fyi it’s on massgrave’s faq section here

tbh i’m not sure if there’s any UI advancement needed for an android recovery since PhilZ Touch or TWRP 2.x, looks cool though
i’m aware. however there’s a lot of money involved in linux, without linus i’m not certain linux will be able to be mostly free from corporate influence and such.
not sure if it’ll be okay after linus is gone tbh…

lineageos default apps identified as proprietary…
shouldn’t this only check for user installed apps?

linuxquestions, arch forums. LQ seems to be a bit less active recently tho
linux mint and ubuntu forum seemed to be very friendly even for noobs

seamonkey is not related to palemoon’s uxp/goanna stuff
agreed, the telegram client is very well made. runs smoothly even on my core2duo.
but the service as a whole, doesn’t seem ‘better’ than discord on the privacy side, just the same level. telegram even provides stuff like unlimited storage (which is too good to be true) and don’t have a clear monetization scheme, advertises like an encrypted messenger when almost nobody uses their e2ee feature. the whole thing looks like a honeypot to me.
