  • Yeah it’s FLOSS and you can do whatever you want with it - no doubt due to the leftist beliefs of the authors.

Regarding doing saying and thinking whatever one wants - yeah I didn’t censor anyone, I’m not an unhinged mod with an appetite to ban anyone who disagrees with me - and there’s no way to stop someone from thinking whatever they want anyway wtf are we even talking about?

I just thought it’s in bad taste to use someone’s FLOSS software whilst calling them slurs. Alternatives exist which would be more aligned ideologically with OP’s beliefs, that’s all.

  • A distro adds extra layers of complexity. If you want to change something you need to know not only how emacs vanilla works, but also specifically how to adapt for your distro.

I found doom fast and pretty powerful out of the box but when I wanted to customize it a bit and saw the mostly unwritten documentation and how it makes everything much more complicated I gave up and returned to my own config.

  • Is KDE actually good or it is overrated?

    That’s like a trick question 😀
If I say it’s good, and that contradicts your own experience with it, you can say “see it’s overrated, people say it’s good, but in fact I know it sucks.”

I use it on Arch but I’ve seen people using it on Fedora and it looked good and stable.

Did you try to look into it, see what’s causing the problems?
In my experience having used Linux and KDE Plasma for about a decade now, if you wanna have a good time you’re going to have to figure stuff out, check the logs, troubleshoot, look it up online, etc.
If you expect to go through different distros to find one that “just works” you’ll be disappointed, and you’ll be wasting your time. Issues can be hardware-specific, maybe you just need to pass a parameter to the kernel, or change a config somewhere or something like that…
