Oh that’s interesting. Thank you.

IDK anything about the electoral college but always assumed it was constitutional bedrock.

Didn’t he say on fox that he’s not going to challenge anything?

This always happens with tech companies. You develop loyalty to the company and then become personally offended when they fail to meet your standards, and you assume that all other users are similar to you.
Most of their revenue would be from corporate contracts. An infinitesimal portion of their revenue base is interested in this.
If they cared about you the CEO wouldn’t have said and done what he has.

I don’t argue in analogies. Trump isn’t being elected. The difference is scale - there just aren’t enough proton users who care about this.

Sorry dweebs, they’re not even going to notice the dozens of you leaving.
Commence downvotes.

I wouldn’t mind an ass replacement.

LOL. They’re just going to do the same thing in a different way once the commentary has died down.

They need to be declined use of the site and forced to pay for revegetation.

I think that’s the point. For Google billions is the cost of doing business. For the contractors it could be criminal negligence which means personal liability.

Some people do, and certainly those people are poorly informed.
Most people talking about the AI bubble are focussed on the gargantuan amounts of money being invested to build out datacentres, relying on the future value of inference.
As in, right now n inference tokens is worth $y.
Investment is occurring on the basis that in the future everyone will need nx tokens.
The actual amount of x is the problem. If it’s less than investors are hoping, and it almost certainly is, then the bubble will pop and suddenly all that investment money is lost.
A catastrophic economic outcome.
However, you’re correct that the chatbots of today will survive the coming economic storm.

I’ve been using Redlib as a front end on a daily basis for the last year or so but it has stopped working because of the recent changes.
Although I spent a lot of time reading posts and comments there I haven’t missed it as much as I thought I would.

I’m not quite sure what your point is there.
For every pre-dotcom tech company you can name that was “over valued once” there are dozens you can’t name because they collapsed.
To your broader point, I agree that AI is here to stay, but the current hype is BS.
Regardless, your use of the term bubble is incorrect.

No new news. Deepseek is still raising billions in funding rounds.

Loads of jobs wont change in the way people have been told they will.

“Bubble” refers specifically to overvalued assets.

Their real estate has been popping for the last decade.

This feels a bit like an ad for dazzle.

LOL.
This is sleazy AI drafted corporate speak confirming everyone’s supposition: we’re pivoting to AI and if you’re not on board you’re fired.
I guaran-fucking-tee the interview will be fed to a model for analysis and scoring.
Yeah the current high end Samsung galaxy ultra is about the same price in Australia.
This is marginally more expensive than flagship phones, but it’s not clear how performance will compare.
I wonder how much of this higher price point is due to the lack of partnerships with companies like Google who will harvest information about you through the device.
