One European Parliament MP said something, everyone else just went with it, Zelensky then doubled down and apparently that was good enough. It soured me on some publications for sure.

THANK YOU. I have been saying this too. Thankfully those comments weren’t immediately obliterated so there are more sensible people still. But to your point, just because you want to believe something that doesn’t mean it’s real.

My employer lost everything they had on me and all of my fellow coworkers, including copies of passports and shit. I’m still mad.
Fun sidenote, two app developers came to our location to ask us ‘what you would like to see in an app we are developing for employees’. I told them I didn’t trust them with my data and to not develop an app at all. Just don’t. They got pretty upset and left.
Six months later news broke about one of the largest data leaks where all of our data was stolen. And yeah it is fucked up but like, I was right tho. I don’t trust them and I was right not to. Stay mad losers.

I don’t download them on kindle anyway, it’s not even connected to the Internet. Just put the files on it manually, works fine.
Would it be a good idea to make sure not all of these machines have a single point of failure as well
Like. Could they perhaps spread several nodes (and I mean, physically even) that maintain a smaller group? So even if one is accessed it would be say, 150 stores, not 700. Still horrible, but like. Not as bad as 700.
I know most supermarkets have this one central hub that manages these things and this made me realize that this can happen to every single one of these chains.
