Plus, Bazzite doesn’t have the same hardware requirements. I have a handheld device that can’t install SteamOS because of an incompatible hard drive, but Bazzite works just fine.

Getting Linux on a Surface can be hard.
How did you format the USB drive? I could never get a usb to boot on my Surface Go unless it was made in Rufus using Windows. I believe you need to format the USB (with no iso) as an unbootable disc with fat32 and GPT and THEN put the iso you want on it. (Two separate operations on the same USB stick.)
There’s also a custom Linux Kernel just for Surfaces that you can use for better driver compatibility.
Edit: I see you mentioned Ventoy. I got some ISOs to work with it, but most didn’t. Then again, I couldn’t get some ISOs to work with Rufus either.
I love that website. I’m considering getting the printed volumes to support them, even though I’ve read most of the articles already.
Could be! I have no idea.
I’m not an expert, but I believes he codes the Linux Kernel on Asahi these days.
If you know the model of your motherboard, you could look up the user manual. Then you don’t need to open it to see if you have two slots. Also, I don’t know your setup. If you have a slot for a physically bigger hard drive, then it might be a good idea to get a bigger storage drive as your second drive. If you like Linux, then reinstall it to your main drive and keep the second drive as storage drive.
Also, libre office has randomly crashed for me on multiple distros now, while doing really mundane things like… resizing a window or trying to save the document as PDF.
I will second only office. It’s more stable for me.
I’ve had no problems compressing Blu Ray MKVs into MP4s with handbrake (using MX Linux). My drive is a branded, internal one (I want to say LG or Asus.) I am at work right now, by I can look at the model number when I get home if you want. Interestingly, I have actually used it on both German Blu Rays and North American ones.
I was born in 1990, and I had a Teddy Ruxpin bear.
Like everyone else, I suggest Lutris or Heroic Games Launcher for most games. Lutris has a relatively straightforward interface to walk you through what it offers. It can even help you install EA and Ubisoft games. Heroic launcher allows you to install games from the Epic and GOG stores. Minecraft has multiple launchers available. Plus, there’s RetroArch and DOSBox for most retro stuff. There are system-specific emulators like Dolphin for GameCube. There are even some fun, free games like “Super Tux Kart” and “Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead.”
Everything I just mentioned is available for download using the “Discover” app in desktop mode of Bazzite. If you have questions about specific games, I might be able to help.
You using an Nvidia GPU? My husband gave me his old one, and it just seemed to give me all kinds of random issues that I never had before on my AMD GPUs. Just a thought.
I will second what someone else said. My husband had all kinds of issues when he reused his old NTFS drive in Linux. He reformated it to ext3 or 4 I think and hasn’t had major issues since.
SHHH! Don’t tell Gnome that there are options other than 100% and 200%.
Dayum, god bless America!
My husband has had an MSI bravo for a few years. Uses it constantly, and it’s great. No issues outta it whatsoever. However, he does not use Linux on it. He prefers to dual boot and the SSD is a little small for that (if you also want to install games).
The director was an amateur, and he didn’t align the grains of sand with the grain of the film.
Sir, a 17th Zorin OS has hit the download page.
Hmmm. I don’t believe I’ve tried pirate IPTV. What are the best pirate IPTV sites? So I can avoid them, of course.
1.) Don’t buy a Samsung phone
I have no experience with setting up Windows after Linux. I’ve always done it the other way around.
However, what version of Windows was it running before? If you haven’t switched the components yet, you can use Windows to make a Windows boot flash drive or DVD officially using the “Windows Media creation Tool.” It’s a free download from an official Microsoft page. I don’t think you needed to buy Windows 11 at all. Both windows 10 and 11 will recognize that your hardware (motherboard mostly, I believe) is registered with a license, and it will simply activate your Windows online, no hassle. It’s like the one thing Microsoft got right.
How about a project Gutenberg “best of” CD full of free public domain ebooks?

They also had a dual layer DVD download if you want something bigger. They don’t seem to host it anymore, but archive.org does.
