4·17 days agoHaha all good, I wasn’t criticizing, snacks just made me laugh. Teens have probably been bartering weed and alcohol in high school since the 70s.
lol I’m just joking that teens in high school would probably trade weed for things rather than snacks. I’m not proud of it, but I got paid in weed junior year of high school for customizing MySpace accounts, which is why I laughed at “snacks” because if they are later age high school students they probably aren’t trading in sour cream and onion.
Nowadays, if there’s something you like online, remember to plug it into archive.org so it gets added to the wayback machine. You’ll still need to remember the URL to access it, but at least it will be archived somewhere

It’s not the right terminology. Radical feminism has its own flaws, but this is Christian fundamentalism, nothing more, no matter how they label it.

I love the mental gymnastics of saying that you’re a feminist and also anti-abortion. The only way a woman gets pregnant is from sperm. And in 99% of cases, that was through the interaction with a man. And it may have not been consensual.
But either way, now said woman is bound to modify her body and life because of her interaction with a man, rather than being able to make her own choice, because you said so and you know what’s best for her. She’s “empowered” to be a good little breeder and produce either men or other breeders because apparently that’s what women are good for when you take away their autonomy, which is really what these groups want. Which, is also a big reason why they hate trans women. Trans women cannot do the only job a woman should have, which is to produce offspring.
They would build such an amazing society! With so many empowered women! Freed from the shackles of being able to think or decide for themselves, ready to fulfill their ultimate dream of producing offspring, taking care of offspring, and then dying.

They don’t give a shit what their users want. Their users are part of the product they sell. Their customers are their advertisers. This is bad news for political advertisers and their investors, both of whom absolutely want political advertising on the platform. This is a good thing. It would be a much better thing if people would just stop using Meta products altogether
Exactly this. This messaging is for their customers, e.g. those that buy political ads, and their investors, those that want line go up regardless of how. They aren’t speaking to their users. Their users are part of the product they sell.
Most of them are accelerationists. They want the world to collapse, because they want to be kings of their own little nation states and they all think that they’re going to come out ahead simply because they have money and because “if I’ve been so successful up until now with pesky governments just imagine what will happen without them.”

iMessage is far more common in the US afaik. Whereas most people elsewhere will use WhatsApp or whatever, nobody in my extended family uses anything but iMessage to communicate
Correct, standard iCloud data is accessible with a warrant. But the UK wanted their own backdoor so they have constant access without a warrant.
But with advanced data protection, Apple can’t provide the data because they don’t have the encryption keys, regardless of a warrant.
Important to note iMessage is always E2E encrypted though, so iMessages cannot be accessed even with a warrant. Advanced data protection just expands that to all iCloud data
The funny thing is, advanced data protection was optional, and not on by default. Apple just stopped offering it in the UK

When it’s enabled, they can’t access iCloud data at all, even with a warrant due to the fact it’s E2E with keys they don’t control. That’s what the UK got really mad about. But Apple shut the whole feature down for the UK in response to the backdoor ask.
It’s not different from the UK banning signal because it’s E2E encrypted and they can’t access it.
They’re likely only backing down now because of consumer/media backlash

My fiancé lost her father recently just after we watched

The episode with the brother and sister losing their dad. She lives in another country, and I wasn’t able to be there in person. Instead, on a discord video call since she put her phone down while I was keeping her company, I watched as she cried out for her dad as they tried to revive him. I don’t think I’ll ever experience a more shitty moment in my life.
Thankfully, she’s now in higher spirits after a month and is being positive by looking at old photos, keeping up with hobbies and stuff.
Wishing you the best, I lost my mom when I was 11, no death of a loved one is ever easy.
