Why the hell are they trying to build data centers in the fucking Sonoran Desert anyway.

Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
Call to power really was a “let’s throw everything in there and the kitchen sink.” No other civ game has approached its sheer amount of random unbalanced shit crammed into it. Not even alpha centari or beyond earth.
Those are the worst el reg comments I’ve ever seen.
I guess I’m a train now.
Likely only Austin Powers father.
Every instance has a reputation. A lot of .ml posters think that .world posters are libs and crypto fascists(if they distinguish between the two). And some folks accuse feddit.nl users of being… Well… Dutch.
The chances of you wanting to migrate over the life of the service is high, but if you already know where you want to migrate and have bothered to create an account you should just do it. Like I was forced to migrate from kbin and I haven’t migrated to db0 from world yet because I’m too lazy to make an account.
Oh baby, if you wanted to get away from adversarial sarcastic comments you sure came to the right place.
Actually one of the reasons I like misskey derivatives and their diversity.
Whan that Aprill with his shoures soote
It’s pretty basic to understand why what you’re looking for doesn’t exist. Every instance that has rules for it’s own users will defederate from an instance that prides itself on breaking those rules. So you’re not going to find an instance that allows you to break the rules that most of the community agrees with while also being federated with everybody. You’d essentially have to create an entire alternate network.
Lemmy has a long way to go before eternal September to be sure. It’s once people don’t know individual commenters across the entire platform we might get there, but as is the regular users are unlikely to get drowned out anytime soon.
As we’ve proven, actual leftists can’t really create an echo chamber because we vehemently disagree with each other on everything.
Different metrics on profitability. Are you judging their hosting costs on how much it actually costs Google to add more in their already existing data centers for YouTube like a good vertically integrated monopoly or are you judging their hosting costs on how much their google cloud bill would be. You’ll get wildly different numbers depending on the method.
I just can’t imagine who will pay for that sort of reach. It’s incredibly expensive for self hosting operations like TikTok. I’d imagine it’d be outrageous without a CDN.
Modified corn starch, miss me with those animal products (I actually am not vegan).
Overall billionaires wasting their money to pay for idiots that then waste it in consumption would be a tax positive, I believe. We should encourage that behavior instead of them buying assets and then extracting rents like the parasites they are. I don’t care if they get to write off the money they lose from their income.
Yeah, all we got is man made tragedy of the commons disasters where the data centers deplete not only the water for humans, but the water for the data centers. Poof, no more data.
