Schools should pay for Kagi

I played AAI2 (the Capcom localization) on DS and the translation was vibecoded. Thousands of lines of Python (to do what?) just to replace some dialog. It kept crashing through different episodes but I’d reload my (last) save and play through the last half hour again, to then battle through a few crashes and then eventually proceed. I’m not sure I would bother with vibecoded stuff anymore.

game streaming. Can no one read?

OpenAI researchers are all dirtbags.

The communication must be made in a manner in which another person may view it.
So, their entire argument hinges on someone from Anthropic manually reviewing EVERY ““private”” message someone sends to Claude? Them false charges.

“unused ram is wasted ram” is only valid when that memory is buffer/cache. Except the windows UI isn’t allocating excessive buffers or cache that can be freed under memory pressure or when an application needs it. It’s allocating actual memory pages for the JS rendering engine and other bloated vibecoded services.

What about prison slavery?

Maybe they saw Kyle Hill’s opinion video on AI space datacenters and said “challenge accepted” even though a cost-to-scale application would require a 10GW laser beam into space.

Tech bro 👎
Tech anarchist 👍

Yeah, it’s really annoying how ads have become “Mr. Beastified” too. I can’t even turn a TV on without some attention sucking advert coming on that demands your full and centered attention. What was a chill afternoon feels more like a tax.

Yep, but also I wouldn’t rely completely on one search engine. I’m using SearXNG and the most tolerant engines are Mojeek, Google, Yandex, and Ayo. Surprisingly, DDG, Startpage, Brave, and Dogpile all block me almost immediately.

It’s a coreboot distribution (FOSS BIOS/UEFI), so technically it works on more things than advertised.
To install it it does require a little bit of preparation. There’s a lot of commands you have to run using a custom compiler toolchain to build an image for your board. The hardest part is disassembling the laptop, if you have an older one, which is mostly what Libreboot targets.

Has anyone noticed that when a teammate uses AI, their teammates also have to as well? Honestly it might be because they don’t want to bother reading the machine’s code when the original author didn’t put much thought into it. Another might be the mental fatigue from reading code that grows faster than you can parse.

First time?

Srs, I don’t think I’ve ever owned a consumer device that, as the other person points out, didn’t have blobs inside from the factory. Sure, ive manually replaced the BIOS with Libreboot and switched to blobless (software) WiFi chips, but then what about the EC blobs? The keyboard and mouse? If being fully FOSS predicates ownership, I don’t think any of us own our devices

This really sucks. The future of a lot of 2010s gaming consoles depended on vulnerabilities being found in early versions of firmware - where they were likely to be made, since most features were built in those versions - that never get patched through to later releases. We probably shouldn’t be surprised that sloppers are self-centered, greedy, and lazy enough to publish this immediately to Sony, since they probably think they deserve credit for being the AI race horse’s owner. Fuck the millions of console owners in 10 years, I guess.
socalconsolemodding made a small article on Reddit describing some parts of the process (including how to test the joints), besides that I used videos by nanofix (for attention to detail) and TheModSmith (for broad strokes of how to install). There’s also switch.hacks.guide that serves as a wiki for switch modding in general.
When I came to the realization that I had probably fucked up, at least a few hours into the project, I sat there depressed and then realized that a replacement wasn’t too much money (ok so a few hundos). I just REALLY did not want to have to admit to myself that I suck, I guess. It’s a self-image sort of thing. I don’t know what I was trying to prove.

(paraphrasing, but)
From just the BSSID these TVs are collecting they know your precise fucking location and can pinpoint it based on signal strength to the nearest street. WiFi Positioning System is cursed. Amazingly, BSSID can also tell you who the customer is based on “public” records since ISPs keep track of this kind of thing when they hand out free routers.
Yes, I am. I think students should get free breakfast and lunch too.
