Here in Singapore MMS was discontinued several years ago as people had left for other messaging platforms like WhatsApp long ago.
This is for the S series lineup. Samsung still have their A series and M,F,C series in other markets.
I see the lack of pre-installed google apps as a bonus.

Perhaps you should consider getting a fairphone if its available in your market. Having a user replaceable battery is much better than going back to the OEM.
Maybe your battery issues is due to li-ion chemistry used in Samsung/LG instead of li-polymer more commonly found in Chinese OEM.

Replacing your battery every once a year seems extremely excessive. I replaced my old redmi note 7 battery only after 5 years for about $30 at a 3rd party retailer.
I think current xiaomi gives at least 3 years of OS updates on their budget redmi lineup and more on their higher priced series.
The a35 has a smaller main sensor, and worst ultrawide then the a54. Unfortunately exynos is a real breaker for me. I guess I hang on to my poco x3 for longer.
I could get a xiaomi 13T for that price.

It would almost be a decent upgrade from my poco x3 but atlast there is the 8MP ultrawide.
My current phone and tablet has just 64GB of storage and I have not felt the need for more.

I think the 8MP ultrawide is probably a deliberate attempt to ensure they don’t cannibalize their higher end phones. The poco x3 that was released 3 years ago had a 13mp ultrawide. Similarly priced phones released later downgraded the ultrawide cam.
