I’m just waiting for a single player game to this, I feel like disabling Linux support is the new hot trend making triple AAA games. Like I already know black ops 6 disabled Linux support or will without even googling it

It’s all fun and games until Google moves unknown sources to the developer tab
I was almost worried steam allowed devs to opt out of steam play, that would be horrible and 90% of devs would opt out
I love cosmic a ton, I wonder how well alpha 2 will function, for me it was mostly usable unless I wanted full screen
I mean the apis are totally different on MacOS, like MacOS is not Linux by any means
I mentioned this in a lower comment but im also curious if they made an API allowing apps like steam to install WinUI3 apps would the same be true.
I mean in terms of the reason to kill Linux gaming so devices like the steam deck would need to run windows for most games
What if they made an API allowing 3rd party stores, but the same security methods. Like MS would do this for the sole reason to kill device like the steam deck
this seems like a little bit of a shitpost.
Linux security to me has always been, don’t download random packages you don’t trust.
They should stop supporting cops!
Couldn’t auto updates break things if they arnt tested?
I’m honestly suprised the amount of effort and awesome stiff went into this. Like its functional and usable. I can’t say all hardware gets the same treatment.
My main issue with Debian is LTS support, I usually run like Ubtunu LTS and I don’t upgrade until it isn’t supported. The stability of LTS is great.
Ubuntu in general has been disappointing I still use it for servers though I’m considering moving to something based on RHEL.
I don’t really see the problem with this is, let’s be honest if you daily drive Linux you likely enjoy opensource software. You likely want other open source apps too and knowing is good. Yes I do run some proptarity apps like Steam and Discord but its neat to have other apps apps open source where I can.
I hate eshittifcation
What ever happened to the source code nvidia did release. Was it released in such a way to where it is not helpful?
I wonder how they are gonna do this, I’m hoping steamOS doesn’t end up like Android where there are a million skins and updates take forever. I know Linux s Is universally compatible with most x86 hardware so in theory it should plug in play as long as they use an amd gpu.
