  • We do have more than one type of water, D20, HD0, HT0, T20, DTO, which are all different mixtures of Hydrogen, Deuterium and Tritium or in other words the hydrogen has more neutrons, there is also a different ionization for each of those, plus there are different phases of ice which are made from different pressure that is ice I-VII, and it’s not impossible for more types we don’t know about, then there is isotopic water that have different mass and reaction rates and it’s not impossible for other types that we just don’t know about or even to create other types.

Tldr: atoms and molecules are more varied and complex than you’d think.

  • Mostly I only have to keep one machine updated but besides that I can play really really long game from anywhere such as RPG’s, that I used to love but I sit at work now so staying at a desk after already sitting for hours kills me, I can move seamlessly from my desk to the living room to my bed to the toilet. Also this doesn’t show the whole story, I have a ton of emulated games that wouldn’t look any better on my pc anyway and getting all the controls set up is a royal pain so this way I only have to do it once and can dock anywhere I really do hope we are going to a one pc future, the only real benefit my computer has is the graphics and you would be surprised how much those just don’t matter, heresy I know but I genuinely don’t care anymore this coming from someone who spent 1500 On a Pc with a 3080 during Covid times, I notice the difference the frame rate can suck depending on the game you’re playing but honestly I just don’t care about that as much as as the convenience. fighting with Windows is a game all in itself one I used to love but now I am a software engineer and will stay as far away from that as possible.

First things first, unless you are strictly mailing yourself or you plan on having discussions with google/microsoft/apple… dump the mail Idea, Trust me it’s not worth it and probably won’t work.

Second for what you want almost everything will be held in ram and the drive won’t matter except boot time, I say almost because you want a samba server so the question quickly becomes how much data do you have and how much money are you willing to spend. I would make the argument that the boot drive should always be ssd but the rest is a matter of patience and money

TLDR: don’t bother with Email, boot is ssd and reset hdd unless you’re rich or not much data.

Certain unnamed companies coughgoogle doesn’t like to trust Let Encrypt its definitely not an abuse of an illegal monopoly they have good reasons I promise.

But the whole point behind using a signed certificate is that other people can look at you and immediately know you are who you say you are if a company doesn’t trust you it doesn’t really matter what the motivation is you might as well use a self signed certificate.

Paid certificates have the money to make sure everyone trusts them and has a reputation to maintain so are more likely to defend a legitimate complaint.

99.999% of individuals it simply doesn’t matter(although you might have to look into it if you’re using android apps) but to a company the little bit that certification costs is worth every penny.

  • I won’t waste to much time on a generated question but businesses become monopolies by being better than others or one of the ones would have became the monopoly then when they have no competition they can get as bad as they like(NOTE: better doesn’t necessarily mean better for you it could mean better at collecting payments or better at logistics but better nonetheless)

And the fact of the matter is nobody likes competition so they all try too work around it.

  • You’re right it’s not a Linux problem but it is a problem more to the point it’s our problem and anyone who would want to switch

Cold hard fact is that people just do not care what causes the problem and people do not care if something is %1 worse or %1000 worse they will always pick the one slightly better that’s why monopoly’s are an inherent part of nature eventually competition is unviable.

The only hope is that either Linux crosses the critical threshold of being slightly better than Windows or windows gets so invasive and counterintuitive that even normies can’t use it for productivity

I use Linux all the time I have three physical servers running probably 20 or 30 VM’s and containers but even I am hesitant to switch my gaming Pc because even though I can play everything I want now what if tomorrow something comes out I really want to play but it’s locked down to windows?

  • IDK man, I was sticking with windows strictly for gaming purposes but ever since I got my steam deck I haven’t had a single problem and any inconvenience is grossly outweighed by windows GD updates and halting the entire system to show an ad… on my $150 copy of windows…. I’m not saying every game will play that’s just objectively wrong but I am saying you either won’t notice or will easily find something that does work, also I don’t think people pay attention to how much tinkering it takes to get older windows games to work.
