I had my first issue since switching just yesterday (I’ve been switched for a couple of months).
I wanted to run some mod installers for the old Kotor games but they’re .exe files.
Only stuff I could get working was manual file-replacements and steam workshop mods.
Yes, and they were all as smart at humans. ;)
So mostly average but some absolute thickos too.
If they’re anything like me, it’s the old laptop that you’d install Linux on as an experiment.
And maybe that laptop was only ah… Semi-retired at the time.
I’m hoping they make a desktop version but I’ve been testing Linux mint on all the games I can download and I’m pretty sure it’s running better than my win10 boot.
So the fact that the other distros are an option that’s relatively accessible makes me think there’s less value to valve releasing the desktop version any time soon.

Or it just happens overseas, where these laws don’t apply (or can’t be enforced).
But I don’t think it will happen. Too many countries are desperate to be “the AI country” that they’ll risk burning whole industries to the ground to get it.
