Do you have any tips for others looking to move their matrix/irc activity over to simplex?

As someone whos familiar with irc, where do I start with irc3? Will I have to learn a new client?
it claims to be private, but also couldn’t answer me when I asked how I could verify that claim
wait, even if I only used duck.ai?
I almost fully agree Idk about ‘should’ just out of paranoia that I can imagine a case where criticizing without sufficient contrast or a consistent-enough background of otherness, could potentially have unintended consequences or surprisingly negative overall moral impacts Or maybe just paranoid idek
Can’t criticize unless an alternative is provided tho, can you?
Or is the world just pissed about the state of things?
That was supposedly the best front-end we had, right? Sad to hear–I hope I can become good enough to help revive projects like this.
On a sidenote, what other frontends are to be used in the meantime? I’m hoping one of the few is still being maintained somewhat
Encryption is my guess? All tuta recs should include the 3-month requirement It may be less now, but I remember they use to close accounts that were inactive for some small time period
Wait til they find the security enhancements of the analog pen and paper
I have tried all the biggest name tools, but have concluded that analog pen and paper work best
Especially if you care about security much
I’m not defending yt, but I am curious to know how specifically this isn’t mostly an overreaction if possible
Wait what’s the risk if they don’t?
I’m sorry you feel this way. I thought logic was at the core of what was being conversed so I didn’t bother much with appeasing to emotional sensitivities–especially when you opened with ‘logic dictates’ then proceeded to make one of the most blatantly fallacious pseudo-arguments I’ve ever come across.
Then again you’re also doing a lot of bothering to not be bothered with my simple (yet antagonistic) questions as well, so perhaps there’s something to be said about such a state of consistent inner-conflict. I’m obsessed with how people ignore their own faults you could say. Thank you for the help comrade
That’s a lot of effort to say no, isn’t it? lol Feel free to point out where specifically I was ‘being an antagonistic ass’ so that I may better myself and others.
I completely respect you if you find that inconvenience not worth bothering with either. I wish only peace for you and your loved ones chief!
I understand what you think you’re pointing out (I was also hoping you were familiar with the fallacies I listed so you could maybe refine your position).
I still believe platforms like Substack have a responsibility to try to avoid enabling harmful (such as nazi) ideologies. Do you think you could spell out a logic for why I shouldn’t hold this belief? Preferably without unrelated analogies that distract from a simple coherent argument if possible
is the TLD just aesthetically unpleasing or are there technical issues with zip archive files? Curious to know how one can judge one TLD over others just b/c I’ve never really thought ab it until now
Ah yes great point getting to the core of my post by using false analogies, red herrings and appeals to ridicule
Your logic dictates strange paths to truth friend.
What does garble mean in this context? What would be accomplished by removing your email after registration?
May I ask why Zulip was selected over others like xmpp or irc? I’m just generally curious about zulip’s potential advantages in the long-term
