It doesn’t. Buddhism, for example does not require a belief in gods.

My search engine even labels AI slop websites, that it pulls from open-source lists like https://github.com/alvi-se/ai-ublock-blacklist. So yeah every day I feel like the need for curated lists is getting stronger even for “useful websites”. Too much noise these days.

Like in the pre-search-engine internet you would have indexes, or whatever they were called, listing useful websites.

Running on your hardware is always going to be less efficient than running in a data center. You can run small models on green data centers - best of both worlds (unless you need privacy then run local).
Ever since I switched to Cortecs I’m spending like 20 cents / month for my LLM usage cuz I mostly use small models and try using them responsibly.

I’ve got a pair of Skullcandy Dime 2’s that cost around $25 and I’ve been using for at least four years now
Same. I have some Anker model for 5 years now or maybe even longer. All of the previous wired earbuds (I even bought an expensive pair) didn’t last this long. I use them regularly as well. Battery seems to last ok even now, enough for most tasks.

That was kinda his point that it can be anything. In his case it was Neovim and grew a lot because of it.
So once the novelty wears off and it’s just the tool you happen to open, what then?
You move on to the next “playground”.

If it’s for blog posts and sharing some point across in writing, I found https://bearblog.dev/ to be great. It’s not completely “yours”, but it’s a great middle ground.

Things like this radicalize people against all AI.

A bit unrelated, but I wonder if I’m the only one left that is:
I feel like when we’re talking about AI this sort of usage gets lumped into the same pile as agentic vibe coding and it’s not helpful for discussion. Surely most people wouldn’t find this problematic?

but it might be fairly compared to the Cotton Gin in terms of making the field workers more productive in the delivery of market ready code/cotton.
Last i heard was that developers FELT like it made them more productive but actually not so much.

I don’t really understand after reading the article what changed? All they did was quote discords blog post from February and this random twitter account … that also had no sources.
Not to mention the article is AI slop.
Is this like some sort of reminder or something? huh?

Cinny is ok.
What makes you say that?
The new textobjects al and il are a great addition as well. Won’t need a shortcut to select the whole buffer anymore and won’t need to do 0 -> ^ -> y$
:D well… you can always use a distribution like lazyvim and chill

the endorsement was on their website
the change that got merged was the one that replaced that endorsement with another one

What /s ?

Yt-dlp is great! I used it it to download podcasts from Youtube so I could listen on my phone. Only later I discovered I can download straight through Pipepipe(youtube client). I actually even used it shortly for regular videos as well to watch them through VLC just so at the end of the day I wouldn’t get hooked on youtube shorts and the rest of the nonsense on the front page.
Yt-dlp also works for most social media sites. X, Tiktok, etc…
Not sure about the value of downloading videos for the sake of storing them (after you’ve watched them) tho. I rarely rewatch videos.
