IME Caddy will not do wildcard domains “by default” if you just configure sub.domain.com {} for everything. It will try to create a unique cert for each. You have to specifically configure it to use a wildcard cert.

Owncloud, Opencloud, Sync-in, and Seafile are some lighter-weight options I know of with docker builds.

AirVPN as they have port forwarding and privacy prioritized
I used to have a set of notes (in a text file) with commands and links to install everything I was running. But it wasn’t bulletproof. After updating my hardware and having to redo everything from those notes, which took a whole weekend, I decided to look for a better way.
Now everything in my homelab is deployed with Ansible. So I don’t have documentation per se, but its kind of self-documented. If my server was fully wiped tomorrow I could reinstall everything in minutes with one command.

I agree with this but it doesn’t fully explain why the comment itself gets removed while the fact that you commented doesn’t. If the explanation is deletion can’t be enforced across instances, why half-delete it? I think ultimately that’s just a design choice.
This seems a bit extreme to me. I have services exposed to the Internet, with reverse proxy and auth.
Can you give some examples of the bloat?

Just to go against the grain here, fuck Cloudflare. They are too big a part of the internet already. I would never use them.
