I just returned back home from a trip and yes the signals are still there as of 10 minutes back. They can be heard on my websdr https://websdr.vu2tum.com/
These signals are being heard in VU as well. I have been seeing chatter on Whatsapp groups about these to the extent that 40m nets have shifted up. It will be interesting to geolocate the source of these signals based on a regional triangulation. Some folks are saying these are of China origin, others say they are from Israel or Iran.
Of course, what they decode into is yet another mystery at the moment.
Hi. Thanks for collating information about various member societies. Here in India, ARSI folks are more connected to fellow hams via whatsapp and there is a groups.io and this doesn’t make it easy for new comers or people interested to get into ham radio. What’s ironic is that ARSI is headquartered in Bangalore, India’s silicon valley and they could certainly do a much better job.
Only HF these days, 40 through 10. Was active on satellites, not so much now. 2 m is dead in my vicinity. The weekly net prioritises checkins from Echolink over RF and that’s a dealbreaker for me.
Will go back on satellites when HF conditions deteriorate. 73
“Just a hobby, won’t be big” - he really didn’t think it will be one of the most sought after projects.
Thanks and as we say in amateur radio, 73 de VU2TUM
A very well written post. I got my license and for over a decade was inactive. Some, not so good folks ridiculed me for wasting a license whereas there were others who helped me by loaning a radio, setting up an antenna at my QTH. Still, life happened and I couldn’t sustain. It was only last year when I started again. There was a lot of hesitation and I was indeed was afriad of making mistakes. I froze up during my first CW contact. I had decided to enjoy the hobby and that’s what I did. Getting on the air is key. Even with compromised setups, stuff works! 73 de VU2TUM
Like others said, such methods will not help achieve proficiency in morse. One needs to learn and associate sound patterns rather than dits and dahs
