While a cause for some concern, the article is missing a critical piece of information: how much heavy metals are there? Heavy metals also occur naturally and some concentrations are harmful while others are not.

Amount makes a poison.

They did say the amounts were well below recommendations from the EPA, but I have no idea if the recommendation was made with this volume of drops in mind.

No, it’s still lacking a few features like CMYK color spaces. The UX issues are those of polish: the feature works if you know exactly how to use it, but a lot of times the workflows are neither intuitive for novices or efficient for proficient users. The team clearly has accepted this too.

As a 10+ year GIMP user, yes it’s that bad.

I still use it because it’s the only relatively full featured photo editor that works on all my platforms, but… Yea.

On sync at least if you open tall images from the post it will be readable.

They would already know to a very high degree, because the device associates with a specific cell tower, and the cell size is quite small for 5g networks, especially in cities. I don’t see why they would need a more accurate info.

I feel like there are some missed opportunities

• Sensors that don’t work because a proprietary driver is missing
• Having to add repositories to get wifi working
• Voice assistant that only works if you know terminal command parameters by heart
• More tool windows
• More xorg.conf to get displays working
• A flame war about the relative benefits of obscure infrastructure componemts
• 7 package managers, 3 if which are needed to install 90% of needed software. The remaining 10% somehow still needs to be installed via shell scripts
• Completely new UI in each version, still looks like it was designed by german ocelots in the 90s

I use gimp daily, but it is still far, far behind photoshop from when I was studying and that was pre 2010.

The biggest problem is the UI. The only major improvement was the transition from multi window to single window with tabs, around 2012 or so.

It feels like using a hammer with a purple dildo for a handle. I can do it after 10 years of getting the hang of swinging around the wobbly thing. Meanwile the rest of the world transitioned to battery driven nailguns and I’m still swinging my dilmer with a slightly more rigid handle.

I have found Linux to have excellent HW support for all older hardware. Only notable exception is fingerprint readers. Granted, it’s been years since I tried gaming.

Well said. I paid for the ad free version right away. Years of sync use gives me full confidence it’s worth it.
