LTT unfortunately has gone the way of easy engagement via ragebait and low hanging fruit. Agreed here. Frequently people charge these near where they sleep and the failure mode is… sudden. Couches and beds tend to be really good kindling too.

It might be worth looking into what the affected serial # range is. From what I’ve seen / read (anecdotal) batteries are under the most stress when fast charging: you could reduce risk using lower wattage chargers in all likelihood… but I’d definitely explore all your options.

This is purely conjecture on my part but if I were a gambling man I’d say that this is an attempt to insulate a potential issue with a bad batch of cells. A bad battery charge that forces you onto another phone is probably better than a repeat of the Samsung battery issue. In essence it’s a sneaky recall without the bad press.

We have words for videos, they’re called “videos”, which are fundamentally different from a “podcast”.

Synonyms exist. Whether or not you choose to acknowledge them might be your business… however the fact you understood the medium being spoken about suggests quite plainly that language has succeeded here.

Podcast are not necessarily offline. You can stream them.

Thankfully: we do not make such a differentiation any more. I find it somewhat interesting your stance allows for such a difference to be ignored, though. Shoutcast servers were/hosted digital broadcasts. Podcasts were containerized (aka offline) recordings of these. You could argue that calling a live show a podcast is technically incorrect: but thanks to language continuing to adapt to its environment… You’d actually just be out of date or misinformed.
