Was curious about the increased customisation so I went dual boot around the time of windows 7.
Went full time Linux when windows 8 came out. Windows has only continued its enshitification since then, so it really paid off.
Every machine I’m currently running would run like dog shit with windows, but runs like brand new with Linux Mint.

I suspect it will replace Ubuntu as the new noob distro, which is a good thing. Doesn’t run as fast on older hardware as mint w cinnamon, but that’s not a big deal. I’m hoping the new DE will improve that.

What it is good for is helping with simple stuff like terminal commands, learning python etc. Stuff that has a low risk profile that you’re not relying on for anything too important.
