It used to be very similar to Lemmy hahahahah
It used to be very similar to Lemmy hahahahah
I checked reddit at 1am yesterday, when a lot of Lemmy was blowing up with USA midterm election excitement… I had to scroll past 10 posts on reddit before seeing a single midterm post.
Either the community that lives there now is not interested, or admins/mods were keeping them back…
It felt eerie either way.

You could call anything a “duh” with that argument…
I will say, I’ve taken a TON of basic cyber security corporate run training events… NONE of them talk about using ad block hahahahah.

A lot of “duh” comments indicating people didn’t read… The headline could be better too but it doesn’t excuse commenting without even engaging the post…
Also, even if it was what people think it is, it’s important to have evidence and journalism highlighting that evidence.

I don’t feel like this article is doing that?

Before SpaceX it was the ULA doing ALL launches. This is nothing new. Launch is expensive, and no one wants to pay the barrier to entry.

I’m dying hahahahah! Yeah, depending on where you work that word carries a lot of baggage

God dang people, maintenance is in quotes for a reason.
Wasn’t supposed to be as technically correct as possible. Meant to express to the original person that things cost money, that’s it.

Sure! I mean, my point was this stuff costs money. Wasn’t meant to be as technically correct as possibly.

Wouldn’t that be part of the “maintenance” cost? If I run an ice cream cart, I need to keep purchasing supplies to keep selling ice cream.

No, but if you DON’T want ads then they need to get money from somewhere?
I RARELY use YouTube

It costs money to maintain software?

Sounds like you live in a black and white world. Sorry, the world is not as easy as you’d like.
Trying to claim that all people who work in tech are in on sinister plots for Big Tech is cartoon-level oversimplification.

Do you understand how language evolves? It’s ok to be “wrong” as long as you’ve communicated successfully.
Sure, not disagreeing with you.
