Personally the only thing I was really interested in was Hyrule Warriors, but we already knew about it. I was disappointed they didn’t have a release date yet, which makes me think this’ll be released in 2026.

I could be interested in Star Wars Outlaws if they weren’t releasing it as a game-key card. Expecting Ubisoft to complain again after it doesn’t sell that well on Switch 2 either (release the full game on a cartridge!).

The GCK situation is really sad. :/

I collect physical games so in my case they’re the worst parts of physical and digital combined and I’d rather consider them “digital only” releases… and since I only buy digital games heavily discounted any game announced in this model has a 1+ year delay for me.

It’s the main reason I’m not buying a S2 anytime soon… not worth it for the small number of physical exclusives I can play right now.

Yeah, I collect physical games too, and game-key cards (or the even scammier “code in a box” physical releases) are terrible. I really hope they don’t sell well and publishers reconsider. The only games I have so far for Switch 2 are Mario Kart World and DK Bananza. I got Fast Fusion Neon because it was rather cheap. It also reminded me of playing the Wii U one which was also one of the first releases and digital only.

The only two third-party games I’m considering to get are Cyberpunk and Hyrule Warriors which I hope is also a proper physical release since it’ll be published by Nintendo.

There’s a post in the NSCollectors reddit front page joking that they “love GKCs”… because it’s ending all FOMO for collecting and making them save money.

Yeah I also like the Hyrule Warriors’ take on musou games but I felt kind of burned by Age of Calamity’s dreadful performance. I ended up not playing that much of it.

Is there any indication that there will be a performance patch for Age of Calamity on Switch 2 ?

I don’t know if a patch is planned, but I played it on my Switch 2 and there’s a massive difference in performance. Particularly the stages where you drive the divine beasts. On Switch they drop down to like 15 fps or something, on Switch 2 it’s super smooth and feels like a completely different game. Here’s a video.

It’d be nice to get a patch for extra FPS and more enemies on screen for the Switch 2 though!

Barely stable 30fps is not smooth as far as I am concerned. The original HW got its 60fps patch, so I’ll keep waiting for the same on AoC. And in the meantime I’ll steer clear of AoI.

Wish we’d know more about the setup, especially if Link will indeed not be the main driver of this. Wondering if it will be more time travel shenanigans, like sending Link back in time into the contract body at the end of the trailer.

Not a bad Direct. Some highlights for me:

    • Monster Hunter Story 3 was a surprise, and it looked really good. Which means I need to play MH Story 1 soon.
    • Final Fantasy Tactics was already on my wishlist, but wanted it on Switch instead of PS, so very happy about it.
    • Same with Hela
    • The Adventures of Elliot, Action RPG with real time battles in HD-2D style of Octopath!
    • Octopath Traveler 0: I dropped the first one cause it felt very repetitive to me, even though I enjoyed the combat and visuals. So this is just to keep an eye and see if this one improved those aspects or not.

Some other games that weren’t for me, but still good addition in general:

    • Once Upon a Katamari
    • Dragon Ball Sparkling Zero
    • FC 26
    • Apex Legends
    • Cronos: The New Dawn
    • Borderlands 4

Definitely getting Katamari, though it looks like it’s digital-only so I’ll probably wait for a sale. Adventures of Elliot also looks really interesting! It’s Switch 2 only so I won’t be able to try the demo, but I’ll keep my eye on this one.

Absolute shame on Sega/Atlus for not including the DLC on the P3R release. (Edit: Looks like it’ll be a full price release, GKC and doesn’t include the DLC… Sega/Atlus absolutely trying to milk Switch 2 suckers players).

Atlus is known for that. For instance Persona 5 and then Persona 5 Royal.

Falcom seems to be taking cues from them too, with Ys X enhanced edition.
