They’ll do anything but give us a full dex
Pokémon Home. Oh god. Full full completion involves getting one of each Pokémon from each game it appears in, both normal and shiny. Good fucking luck.
That’s the upsetting part. A lot of us were already well on our way to getting a shiny living dex.
It said “gotta catch ‘em all”, not “gotta catch them all* **
*limited by availability within the base game
** additional paid downloadable content may be available at a further date”
We need to hype up more Digimon Stories and Monster Hunter stories. Their narratives have so much more effort and the designs at least for Digimon can encompass a lot of creativity like Pokemon. Dragon Quest Monsters hopefully grows too
I agree with you, i don’t know Monster Hunter storeis, but the digimon Story games. But i want to mention that the narrative of Pokemon mystery dungeon games is often quite good. Super Pokemon Mystery dungeon had a very good story. But i doub we see a new one in the near future.
Monster Hunt Stories has some solid drama. You play as natives that try to live in harmony I’m with monsters but sometimes a monster prophecy happens and you got prevent the monster apocalypse with your monster friend and villagers while uncovering the human conspiracy behind it all. Simple common premise for children stories that’s always good when the drama is executed well
Doesn’t bombard you with a ridiculous amount of talking cutscenes where people say nothing like modern Pokemon games. At least since Sun and Moon but maybe all the 3DS Pokemon games started over explaining everything
The Ranger series was also really good but I don’t think we’ll see anymore of those since it required a stylus.
(Bullhorn voice) How about a new game like Pokemon Go was?
Pokemon Go or Pokemon Let’s Go? I would love a new Let’s Go. I would also love the old games to be released on Switch Online (or stand alone) with full Pokemon Home integration.
Pokemon Go like the smart phone game. Gamefreak could knock it out of the park using the Switch 2 in mobile mode
So a Switch 2 game where you walk around the real world and catch Pokemon? I see a bunch of issues with it:
- The S2 does not have mobile Internet, so they would need to preload maps of the entire world and put out constant game patches to keep them current. Any multiplayer content will only be playable when the player is home (or by a Wi-Fi hotspot).
- The S2 does not have GPS. Would they track location by polling the joycon accelerometer every second and moving the player character 2 inches down the street? You would be to start every play session from a known location and keep the S2 running for the entire play session. Also, the longer you play, the more the errors in your location will add up.
- The S2 does not have a rear camera, so you cannot do AR, only a fantasy background.
